    Riddle me this....

If Kurt Warner was the QB for the Eagles, and McNabb was the QB for the Cardinals in this game....who would have won the game?

Oh of course....it's Warner remember? I mean, if he would have been the Lions QB....they would have 16-0 instead of 0-16. You really think he outplayed McNabb that much? I don't about you but I saw Fitzgerald making plays when Curtis and Co. didn't.

The Cardinals would have still won the game. Take a look at the offensive weapons the Cardinals have and then compare them to the noname guys the EAGLES have, excluding Westbrook. McNabb does an outstanding job with the cast he has to work with.

    Offensive weapons of the Cardinals?

    Ok, let's see.

    Fitzgerald? Yes, they have superman.

Boldin? did he even play in this game? or last game for that matter? He had 4 catches for 34 yards in this game and did not play vs. the Panthers.

so please tell me who "all these weapons" are? Steve Breaston? 30+ year old Edgerrin James?

And so I guess Brian Westbrook, Kevin Curtis, and Desean Jackson are a bunch of chumps?

Point is not that McNabb doesn't have the weapons that KW has, it is that most QB's in the league, including McNabb, could not run this Cards offense and handle the blitz like KW, and throw the ball in stride more often than not to allow their receivers to excel.

IMHO, McNabb loses this game if he's the Cards QB. And if Warner was the QB for the Eagles, we'd be talking about "all their weapons" because he'd spread the ball around.

Okay so let's use the NFC Championship game as an example.

Kurt Warner completed 21 passes to 10 different receivers (1 of which was to himself ) so really 9 different receivers.

Donovan McNabb completed 28 passes to 9 different receivers.

So if my math is right both guys are pretty good at spreading the ball around?
    At least in that game.

    McNabb's Cardinals would have won.

    The Eagles would have won.

The game really came down to the last two serious drives of the game. The Eagles led by 1 point. Warner made all the throws and led the Cardinals to the winning score. When McNabb got his chance, he missed a bunch of critical throws, high, wide, low, behind. It took a brilliant catch by Westbrook on a poorly thrown ball to even get the Eagles to mid field.

Not only do the Eagles win that game if they have Warner, they probably win a couple Super Bowls by now.

    Re: Riddle me this....

The Eagles would have won, and not because of Warner. McNabb has a history of chocking at clutch time. While he did have a very good 2nd half, overall he was very erratic and alot of his passes were either overthrown or underthrown when his receivers were open. All in all, he had a very typical McNabb performance in a big game.

Ah, but what if the Eagles QB was Dietre Brock and the Cardinals QB was Bubby Brister? Then who would have won?

If that were the case, Steve Dills would have got the Rams out of a pickle.

Again I ask the proverbial question:

    What if C A T really spelled D O G?

Same could be said about Westbrook, the Eagles' best offensive weapon. He wasn't at 100% and hasn't been a factor for at least a month.

Breaston had more receptions and yards this year than ANY Eagles player did. Only one Eagle had more TD catches. I wouldn't write him off as a capable weapon in that offense.

James wasn't much of a factor during the season, but was certainly a factor in the final game of the regular season and two of the three playoff games, including the one against the Eagles.

Let's not ignore the fact the James' back-up (Hightower) is certainly more of a weapon than Westbrook's back-up (Buckhalter).

So the only clear personnel edge the Eagles have is at WR2, with a healthy Curtis being better than a hurt Boldin. Otherwise, Cardinals have the edge at WR1 with Fitz, at WR3 with Breaston, and maybe even at RB given the way Edge has emerged and how Westbrook has slowed down in the last month.

So yeah, the Cardinals have some weapons.
