Robert Griffin III injures knee
LANDOVER, Md. -- Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III left Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens in the final minute of the fourth quarter with a sprained right knee.
Last year's Heisman Trophy winner was helped off the field after being landed on by Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata at the end of a 13-yard scramble. Griffin returned to the game for four plays, then dropped to the turf on his knees and left again.
While he was being worked on by trainers on the sideline, Redskins backup quarterback Kirk Cousins entered and threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon with 29 seconds left. Cousins then ran in a 2-point conversion to tie the score 28-28, and the teams headed to overtime.
Early in the extra period, the Redskins announced that Griffin's return was doubtful.
When Griffin departed, he was 15 for 26 for 246 yards and a touchdown pass. He also ran seven times for 34 yards.
In Washington's previous game, a 17-16 victory over the New York Giants last Monday night, Griffin broke Cam Newton's single-season rookie quarterback rushing record.

I don't know how serious the injury is, but we all knew something like this was inevitable.

He's a small guy and takes a lot of hits. Second time this season he's been taken out of a game due to injury.

Re: Robert Griffin III injures knee
Ok where have we all seen a "RG3" QB? Randell Cunningham, Cordel Stewart, or Mike Vick to name a few and how long do they last?
Eventually some NFL team will find a "superman" to play QB that can run and throw the ball. But one fact is LB are quick and often have 100 pounds on a QB, and with the rise of the FS position as a must have on NFL teams, RG3s style QBs just don't have a long self life.
Mobile is good, D. McNabb was a mobile QB and had a long career as well as S. Young. But most made their mark on the NFL with their arms and not their legs. The joke here is if RG3 doesn't evolve into a mobile QB, the Redskins wasted a top draft pick--thats an expensive BUST
