More reason for future contracts to have motorcycle clauses.

Re: Roethlisberger in wreck
It's being reported that there was no serious damage to his knees, that he will be released from the hospital in a week or so and that he will probably start this NFL season.
That's great news.

Re: Roethlisberger in wreck
Now that we know he'll be okay...
I'm sorry, but I saw this somewhere else and can't help myself.

Re: Roethlisberger in wreck
I do have sympathy for him, just as much as everyone else. I even registered at a Steelers fan site to send my condolences on behalf of ClanRam. Call it bad timing or disrespectful or whatnot, but maybe it's just my demented "evil disco" sense of humor. Maybe it's a physical/mental disorder that I can't help like the famous "fat gene" or "road rage." :bored:

Re: Roethlisberger in wreck
Going over to the Steelers board was a nice thing ... and posting the picture is "pure evil" disco. It is funny, I must agree with you.
I had not realized that they were reporting that Ben should be recovered and ready to play before the season opens. That is good news.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Re: Roethlisberger in wreck
Yeah, I heard he could be out of the hospital in 3-5 days. Very lucky for the situation.

Re: Roethlisberger in wreck
They reported on Sport Center that a radio station said that Roethlisberger doesn't have a valid Pennsylvania motorcycle license.

Re: Roethlisberger in wreck
I read that he had a learner's permit that expired in March. He must be a beginner with motorcycles and unfortunately for him he made some beginner mistakes. That accident could have been avoided and a helmet would have made it much easier on his head.

Re: Roethlisberger in wreck
I am glad he is ok, i dont wish an injury of that type on anyone. However, i dont really have any sympathy to the extent the injuries were caused by not wearing a helmet. I have sympathy for innocent victims in life, not for people that make decisions and then dont want to live with the consequences. I hope he likes eating creamed corn. To the extent the injuries would have resulted regardless of whether he was wearing a helmet or not, i am sympathetic to his pain.
General rule: Too many people in our society dont take responsibility for their own actions. I actually defend his choice to not wear the helmet, i think he is only a risk to himself not others on that basis. His choice, as long as he is prepared to live with the consequences of his choice.

Re: Roethlisberger in wreck
Interesting points GC. Fair points too. Big Ben is young. When you're young, you don't think anything can hurt you and feel invincible. He was lucky this time and I'm guessing he's embarrassed, shaken, and a lot wiser. Hopefully his misfortune can enlighten others.

Re: Roethlisberger in wreck
I am glad to hear that this may just be a major scare and nothing career threatening. Young people make mistakes and I am glad that he will live adn learn from this one.
