Re: Roy Williams traded to Cowboys..
The Cowboys are clearly in a "win now" mode. Three picks for Williams? Sure, he's a quality young WR with some real upside, but he also has an expiring contract and is going to want to get paid. Plus, every time the ball is thrown to him, T.O. will pout.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Roy Williams traded to Cowboys..
I think this is a bad move by the Cowgirls, just one more inflated ego in the locker room and they gave up too much. The girls are going to implode.

Re: Roy Williams traded to Cowboys..
it be funny if they blow all them picks on him for him to then become a Free Agent in a year!
also i wonder what names they will have on their jerseys now seeing as they now have 2 Roy Williams`s? i dont recall any other teams having players with the same first and last name before...

Re: Roy Williams traded to Cowboys..
At first glance it may appear so but in all liklihood the picks they gave up will be very low in each round provided the CowPukes end up where they are projected to finish, and therefore not be as valuable as it seems. In all likelihood it could come out being far more like 2nd, 4th, and 6th round choices when all is said and done.
WHAT SAY YE?

Re: Roy Williams traded to Cowboys..
Well, I'll throw in my dos centavos from the other side of the fence.
We gave up a 1st, a 3rd, and a 6th in exchange for Roy and a 7th round pick. It could very easily be argued that the 6th and the 7th are going to be very close to each other in actual overall number in the draft if Detroit keeps playing like they are and Dallas can pull it's head out here soon.
You could say that we got Roy for a 1st and a 3rd.
That said, Dallas still has 9 picks in the 2009 draft before the compensatory FA picks are awarded in March 2009. We did lose Julius Jones, Nate Jones, and Jacques Reeves to FA, so we should see at least two picks in return. We did get Zach Thomas in FA, but that's it as far as my mind allows me to remember at 5:40 am.
As the news will report soon, Roy is being extended to a 5 year deal.
On an weird tangent, Dallas did used to have two Williams's. Roy and Randall. The uniforms used the first two initials of the players first name for Randall IIRC.

Re: Roy Williams traded to Cowboys..
oh thats an often used one..with teams having the same surname & first initial i mean...the Rams used to have two J.Youngbloods..the ravens having 2 J.Lewis`s etc...
i meant the exact same first names..two Roy Williams`s..i guess it dont really matter as they will have different numbers and one will be on O whilst the other Roy will be blown in coverage
on the D.
when he`s fit again anyway...
