Agree, local papers are reporting that after meeting with the owner, he quit.
Hmmm... Who could use a good D coordinator???
Miami Herald is reporting it now.
I hope John Shaw or Jay Zygmunt are working the phones right friggin' now. At least get him on as a consultant until the end of the season, then go from there.
I say we pull the trigger on this one. Come on, FO, earn your paycheck. The buddy system isn't working and here's our chance.Quote:

DO IT!!! DO IT!!!
GO RAMS!!!
I say just like the Bruce trade, we start the rumor that the contract details are being ironed out as we speak. Might keep MarmaLeadenFoot up longer at nights thinking how he can fix the D for his boss at least.
Ok, so let me get this straight. You want to bring in Wanny as a D Coord.....in the middle of the season. These guys wouldn't know come here from sic'em if we did that.
That's why I say bring him in as a consultant, and don't make any moves with Marmie until the end of the year. It's never good to change staff in the middle of the season.
Sometimes you just gotta stop the bleeding...even if you have to cut off your hand to save the arm! If we could get him as a consultant this year and make him DC next year I could live with that. You have to start somewhere!Quote:

Of course, that would be a tough ego pill to swallow for Wanny, but, I think he just choked a big one down!
What say ya'll?
I think it would be a tougher pill for Martz to swallow, for the franchise to bring in a guy that just resigned (and would have been fired the way some talk) to shore up a defense run by your buddy.Quote:

I think this offseason will tell a lot about who is calling the shots at Rams Park. If Marmie returns for a 2nd season, then I'd say it's pretty obvious that Martz gets whatever he wants. However, if Marmie is launched at the first window of opportunity, Martz may be on a shorter leash than we think.Quote:

Are there roots in the family tree connecting Dave to the Rams? I don't think we really have much of a shot at getting him but I feel it in my bones that having him would put the Rams over the top and counter-balance Martz to the benefit of the team.
As Steven Tyler would say: "Dream on, dream on..."
I've found a connection. In 1981 & 1982, Jimmy Johnson was the head coach at Oklahoma St. The DC for that team was Wannstedt. The RB coach was Frank Falks, currently the Rams TE coach. From '83-'85, both Wannstedt and Falks coached for Ted Tollner at USC, DW as D-line coach and Falks as RB coach.Quote:
