RUMOR: Panthers safety Mike Minter to announce retirement on Tuesday

The Panthers have called a press conference for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wofford College, and it doesn't take much of a reporter to know what it's for.

Veteran safety Mike Minter is going to announce his retirement.

The move comes as no surprise, given Friday's proclomation that he was thinking about it, given the condition of his knees.

The combo of Minter/Harris might have been good for Carolina, but now it would appear the safety spot is once again a concern.

I also hear sally (other saftey that would start alongside harris) is injured. but he will probably be fine by the first preseason game.
