Seahawks LB Aaron Curry demoted to second string

The Wake Forest product and the No. 4 overall pick in the draft three years ago confirmed that his role has changed, and he has been demoted to second team on the depth chart at outside linebacker, with rookie K.J. Wright working with the first unit during practice this week.
“I don’t even know how to put it into words,” Curry said. “But it is what it is. … Everything happens for a reason. There’s a purpose behind everything, and I’ll find it and learn from it and take off running.
“It’s going to be interesting to see what happens on Sunday. All questions will be answered on Sunday really.”

I will be the first to step to the podium, and say, I was wrong. Apparently major-league wrong.
I really thought Curry would be one of the top all-around LBs in the league by now. But I was wrong, wrong, wrong.

The draft is a crap shoot. You just never really know what you are gonna get. At least he has a good attitude about it.

Thats why 2nd round draft picks are more valuable in my mind, you get almost the same sort of potential (well, good enough anyways) and it comes at a healthy price tag.
Curry may become a bust or re-ignite his career with someone else but the only thing guaranteed is that he's "earned" 28 million dollars.
My money is on him becoming a steady starter without stardom on another team.

Then it's possibly the first thing he's had a good attitude about since he got to the NFL. Played like a guy who never had the respect for the game or the guys who play it right & that includes preparation. I heard that " the coaches have simplified the gameplan for player X so he can just stop thinking & play." made in reference to Curry several times. Coach-speak for this guy is either too dumb or doesn't hit the books enough.
Unless there is some injury we don't know about that has limited his progress, I think the demotion is probably an effort to burst that ego bubble & get him to work. The talent is there.
