Seahawks runningbacks

It seems odd not to be talking about Shaun Alexander when thinking about the Seahawks. Seattle has 4 runningbacks on their off-season roster at last check (today).

T. J. Duckett
Julius Jones
Maurice Morris
Justin Forsett

No matter who or whom they go with this has to be an area of concern.

NFC WEST: (Top Runningbacks)
1. Steven Jackson
2. Frank Gore
3. Edgerrin James
4. Julius Jones or Maurice Morris???

The Seahawks were upset by the fact that Alexander wasn't hitting the holes with authority. Playing more of a finesse game. I don't know anything about Justin Forsett but other than Duckett (if he makes the team) on situational plays, I don't see Morris or Jones being a grinder either.

This could be the start of the Seahawks slide???

It's the Rams major strength that needs to be emphasized this year. Jackson's running could help Avery or should I say Burton.

Re: Seahawks runningbacks

Alexander was overrated IMO anyway. I remember football outsiders ranking him somewhere around 30th best back the year he won the rushing title. Not saying FO is the end all and be all of football analysis: just saying that statistical analysis did corroborate what I already believed from watching him, which was that he was a mediocre back who benefitted from a terrific offensive line.

I could be wrong about that, but I personally wasn't scared of the Seahawks rushing offense next year even when I thought Alexander was going to be their back.

Re: Seahawks runningbacks

Our defense better be up to the task this year because every time we play the Seahawks, we make guys like Morris look like all-pros.

Re: Seahawks runningbacks

I can see Julius Jones really carrying the load for the Hawks, with TJ Duckett handling most of the goalline duties. Not really a RB committee that's going to scare anyone in the league.

Re: Seahawks runningbacks

If J. Jones gets his head on straight and is motivated(apparently a big "if") he has the potential to do good things. A fresh start with a team that is committed to him is exactly what he needs.
