Seahawks sign Marcus Trufant to 6 year extension

Quote:
Trufant reached a six-year, $50.2 million deal with the Seahawks on Wednesday that includes $20 million in guarantees. In the first three years of the contract, he will make $28 million.

Re: Seahawks sign Marcus Trufant to 6 year extension

i remember it like it was yesterday. I wanted Trufant in the draft so badly, he kept dropping and dropping. I thought he might go as high as 7th, and as he stayed on the board, i got more and more excited. Jimmy Kennedy was dropping at the same time. When seattle was on the clock, i knew we would get one of the two. My fear was seattle would take Trufant due to his local college connection. I thought they needed DT more than corner at the time. They took Trufant, we wound up with The Big Stiff Bear and the rest is history.

Trufant has had his ups and downs, including numerous games of getting completely toasted by holt and especially rev. ike, but he really came into his own last year and i think this is an excellent signing by the hawks.

I too was hoping and praying they would take Jimmy Kennedy to let Trufant slide to us. We all know how that worked out. :x

First Tatupu and now Trufant locked into multi-year deals. Good job by Seattle's FO.

:l
