Seahawks retain rights to five as NFL free agency begins today

The Seattle Seahawks were mostly quiet Tuesday on the eve of NFL free agency.
The team retained the rights to five restricted free agents by extending one-year offers.
Cornerback Kris Richard, safety Terreal Bierria, defensive tackle Rocky Bernard, tight end Ryan Hannam and safety Marquand Manuel can pursue outside offers beginning today.
Seattle can match any offer or receive a draft choice in the same round in which the player was chosen. Richard (third round), Bierria (fourth), Bernard (fifth), Hannam (fifth) and Manuel (sixth) finished the 2004 regular season as backups. Bernard started the playoff game.
Decision time for two
Linebacker Anthony Simmons and safety Damien Robinson are prime candidates to be traded or released.
Both finished last season on injured reserve and are owed bonuses if they remain on the roster much longer.
Simmons’ contract calls for a $500,000 roster bonus. Robinson is due to receive $200,000.
The Seahawks recently released receiver Jerry Rice, avoiding a $249,000 roster bonus.

Re: Seahawks update
Its still going to be interesting to see what Rice does. He'll probably retire and I'd love to see him retire with the Raiders, but its not likely.

Re: Seahawks update
Hmmm Damien Robinson was a free safety no? Perhaps he would be a good backup for Arch.
Anthony Simmons could be good to but I worry about health concerns.
