So much for the Pat's image

I guess that NE no longer cares about the "team first," "squeaky clean," image the supposedly maintained for years. Stallworth, Moss, Merriweather... not exactly the types of guys who fit that mold, huh?

Let's hope it blows up in their face, shall we?

Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Patriots | Moss informed he's on a short leash
    Sun, 29 Apr 2007 12:38:53 -0700

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the New England Patriots have made it clear to WR Randy Moss that they will not tolerate any issues out of him. If he's able to be a model member of their team, they will take care of him. However, if he causes any waves they will not hesitate to release him.

I would love to see this organization crumble to a mediocre team with a top-ten draft pick next year!

I hope it totally ruins their image, but as of right now, they're the team to beat, and they're already next year's superbowl champions in many people's eyes.

If I had to bet on it, I'd pick the pats, hands down.

The Colts and Chargers might have something to say about that.

The Patriots have a very strong locker room. With guys like Bruschi, Seymour and Brady to name a few. I doubt that Moss or anyone else would dare to rock the boat. I hope the signings of Moss and Stallworth backfire on the Pats but I doubt it will happen.

Let's face it, the Patriots got a gift from the Chargers after an absolutely horrible interception served up by Brady. Total luck, a la "the tuck". Shawn Merriman and company have more than enough fire power to stop New England, with or without Moss, who IMO is not the same player he used to be. I wouldn't discount Payton Manning and the Colts either. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the way I see it.

Do you really think that they cared all that much anyway? C'mon, they never signed any of their top defensive players back.....so do you think they really cared about the individual to begin with? I don't, I don't think they gave a red cent about anything but winning and that's all they should care about. They signed Corey Dillon didn't they, and he was supposed to be a bad boy to begin withl

Hard to argue with you here Tx. I think you nailed it, they'll do whatever it takes to win. In addition to signing Dillon and Moss, they had no qualms about picking up Rodney Harrison, who is arguably considered to be the dirtiest player in the NFL.

If anything, I would guess that the prevailing attitude toward the Patriots is that they will bend any rule, exploit any situation and resort to any tactic they can get way with to win. Outside of New England, I'm not sure their image would be described as angelic.
