    Nicholas J. Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports the Detroit Lions tendered restricted free agent S Terrence Holt a one-year, $712,000 offer. If he leaves for another team, the Lions would receive a fifth-round draft pick in return.

    r u joking me man????? holt is a capable backup safety and good special teams player.... i would give up a 5th round pick in a heart beat to have terrence holt.... what would we do with the 5th rounder anyway???? draft another jason shivers, or jerome collins????? or shane walton or kevin garrett come on

    yeah, considering our need at that position, a fifth rounder does not seem all that bad. Plus, I read in an article that he is a pretty good special teams player as well. He is prooven to be a reliable safety so why not for a fifth round pick?
