True, but I really don't count him as a Ram as he was totally destroyed physically when he joined the team. The tank was pretty much empty.

the same could be said for Broadway Joe.

Well, if I took that approach I would have had Lydell Mitchell on my list.

Touche....I guess I liked him enough to ignore the fact that he played for us (if you want to call what he did for the Rams actually "playing"). He's probably my 2nd favorite all-time QB who I actually had a chance to see play, not just old footage and highlights.

True enough...except I never could stand the guy...probably the most over-rated "big-name" QB in the history of the league. Not quite sure how he his name has remained in the spot light all these years based off of that one silly prediction. In my opinion, no way the Jets win that game if not for Shula's stupidity in starting Morrall instead of Unitas. Or at the very least, getting Unitas in the game earlier than what he did.

Could not agree more! His career rating of 65.5 puts him behind heavyweights like Joey Harrington, Rex Grossman, and Steve Walsh. But HUb those are all modern day QBs in modern systems? Well, I'm glad you mentioned that.....Namath is also behind contemporaries like John Hadl, Tom Flores, Charlie Conerly, Charley Johnson, Bill Nelson, George Ratterman, Milt Plum, Billy Wade, John Brodie, Daryle Lamonica, Frankie Albert, Earl Morrall, Roman Gabriel, Don Meredith, Bob Berry, & Frank Ryan. All of whom were eligible for the Hall when Namath was elected. None of whom are in the Hall of Fame.

I just thinks it's a shame that Namath is in the Hall when so many better players aren't.

Totally agree. He had some decent years and held the NFL record for most passing yards in a season for some time, but it's a crime that he's in the Hall because of one game (albeit a historic one) while others are shut out. It was true then and it's still true to some extent, image is everything. Shaking my head.....

A more recent list compared to the others posted, but oh well
also, don't judge these players based on their current status(being on the patriots roster, for one)

    Randall McDaniel
    Larry Fitzgerald
    Champ Bailey
    Dan Marino
    Barry Sanders
    Sam Madison
    Randy Moss
    Derrick Thomas
    Santonio Holmes
    Dwight Freeney

    Re: Top 10 Favorite Non-Rams

    1. Bart Starr
    2. Ray Nitscke
    3. Dick Butkus
    4. Gale Sayers
    5. Johnny Unitas
    6. Raymond Berry
    7. Jim Brown
    8. Jim Taylor
    9. Franco Harris
    10. Roger Staubach

These players (in no particular order of preference) seemed to make their time on the gridiron special for me. The hard part was limiting the number to 10.
