Vick heading to Seattle?
By Matt Bowen, National Football Post
The idea that Michael Vick(notes) could land in Seattle has been mentioned to me by multiple league sources over the past couple of days.
From what I’ve heard, new Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora had a great relationship with Vick while the two were in Atlanta – despite the negative reports circulating through the rumor mill right now – and that he actually “cares” about the former Falcon and his future. I’ve also been told that, from a public relations standpoint, Seattle would offer Vick some protection from the media since it isn’t a city that draws the kind of overwhelming national attention as a Dallas or a Pittsburgh.
Time to throw the Seahawks into the ring for Vick’s services? Today, Vick said he’s “getting close” to signing with a team, so we should soon know where this story leads.

Rewind: Seahawks still not interested in Mike Vick

The Seahawks are not interest in adding Michael Vick, this is a recording.
One that could have been played in February at the NFL Scouting Combine when the topic of the quarterback's potential return to the NFL began to simmer around the league.
"We haven't discussed it," coach Jim Mora said after he left the podium following an interview. "We're happy with our quarterbacks."
The Seahawks still weren't interested when Mora answered questions during the team's final organized mini-camp at the beginning of June.
"I'll just say this for the record: We are very happy with the quarterbacks we have on our roster," Mora said. "We have no intentions of adding another player to our roster at this time."
He then offered another addition to make sure any speculation was ended.
"Just cut out the 'At this time,' because then people will speculate for the next three months," he said. "We have no intentions of adding a quarterback to our roster."
Well, it's a couple of weeks later, the league is conditionally reinstating Vick and already I've seen a few more references. But still, the Seahawks are not interested in signing Vick.
They won't be interested next week if Vick remains unsigned.

Re: Vick heading to Seattle?
It seems that all though Vick is cleared to play, no team wants him. I wonder if he is going to get picked up or not.

Re: Vick heading to Seattle?
I heard on ESPN Radio, mention of the Seahawks entertaining the idea of a VICK
As to the wisdom of the Seahawks if they go through with picking him up
1: Who knows just when Vick will be allowed to play?
2: How ready is he ready to play?
3: What possition would he would he play?
4: How much will it cost the Seahawks?
5: Roaster spots are limited in number, what would they give up?
6: Which of these variables & unknowns should be a deterent?
Those are team considerations a head coach must calculate. Management needs to factor in...
1: How much public outcry might affect the bottem line?
2: How much would the outcry cost the team, financial?
3: Of all places around the country, the Seattle area are less likely to accept someone who was/is cruel to animals--what head aches is the organization willing to endure on his behalf?
Both camps need to recognize what is Vicks long-term status with the team. For Years now the Seahawks have gone "West coast" offense. They are geared in terms of there skill possitions for that style of offense, their offensive line is geared for blocking for that style--so what is the weak link here?
Answer: VICK
He doesn't have the skills at throwing the ball to take advantage of their talent. His very presents makes the Seahawks one diminsional--he doesn't fit the West Coast offense. If there is a team that is a fit for VICK its Carolina and maybe the Eagles--they have the O-lines to sustain a punishing running game allowing for some passing "gotacha" plays.
For my point, hope the Seahawks are that stupid to sign Vick--ought to take them 4 years to re-tool their team to use Vick
