Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Minnesota Vikings have chosen Brad Childress, formerly the offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles, as their new head coach. The two sides have begun negotiations and as long as they can work out contract terms, the team is expected to name him their head coach Friday, Jan. 6, at a press conference.

Re: Vikings | Childress chosen as new head coach; must now reach contract
Look at the oddness of it all; and I think most of it can be racked up to EGO and appearances.
Minnesota had an excellent OFF COORD that helped them set records. He was offered big bucks by Miami and left a year ago - Scott Linehan. One would think if Minnesota wanted a good Offensive mind they'd bring Linehan back who worked well with the players which are still there.
Instead, they're going after Philly's O-Coord.
The RAMS had Mad Mike with a freakish Offensive mind that created the Greatest show on turf. He is FIRED and the RAMS are interviewing another OFF Coach - Scott Linehan.
It's crazy, it is. If you want an Offensive mind, you're not going to find one better than Mike Martz. Martz's Offense is going to outscore anyone's OFF out there - if the Talent is equal.
