Vobora signed by the Seahags

David Vobora, a former “Mr. Irrelevant” in the NFL Draft, has become very relevant for the Seahawks.
The linebacker who played the past three seasons for the St. Louis Rams was signed by the team today. Running back Vai Taua was released to clear a spot on the 90-man roster.
Vobora (6-1, 239) got his “Mr. Irrelevant” tag when the Rams made him the final pick in the 2008 draft – the 252nd player selected overall.
Vobora started a game for the Rams as a rookie, becoming the first rookie selected last in the draft to do so since linebacker Marty Moore with the New England Patriots in 1994.
A product of Churchill High School in Eugene, Ore., and the University of Idaho, Vobora played in 34 games with the Rams. Ten of his 16 starts came in 2009, when he had a career-high 46 tackles. He posted the first two sacks of his NFL career last season. Vobora had eight tackles against the Seahawks in the 2009 season opener at CenturyLink Field.
Vobora also had 29 coverage tackles on special teams while playing with the Rams.
Taua, who had been signed Aug. 14, gained 15 yards on two carries in the Seahawks’ preseason home opener against the Vikings on Saturday night.
This is exactly what I didn't want to happen....

They're probably taking him just so they can sap out whatever knowledge he can get out of our defense.

Re: Vobora signed by the Seahags
I kinda figured they were going to pick him up due to thinning OLB depth...

As long as Vobora finds a job, its all gravy, hope he does well wherever he ends up.

Nice to see that the Hawks value our throw-aways.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Vobora signed by the Seahags
Couple of nice low crunchers on Marshawn Lynch in practice for old times' sake, Dave.

Re: Vobora signed by the Seahags
I was sad to see Vobora get cut by the Rams as i liked his attitude. And while it's disappointing to see him get signed by the Seahawks, as i would have rather him have signed with someone outside the division, it's good to see him still have a job in the NFL and i hope he has 14 great games every season
