QB Warner returns to Cardinals on two-year, $23 million contract
NFL.com Wire Reports
As many expected, Kurt Warner wasn't going anywhere. That became official Wednesday, when the veteran quarterback agreed to terms on a two-year contract to return to the Arizona Cardinals.
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the contract is worth $23 million, including $19 million guaranteed. The Cardinals did not disclose details.
Warner's agent told the Associated Press late Tuesday he had offered the Cardinals a two-year deal worth $23 million, with $12 million guaranteed. The Cardinals reportedly offered a two-year, $20 million contract with $10 million guaranteed. Warner had sought a deal that would rank with the top five paid quarterbacks in the league: two years for some $29 million.
Warner's counteroffer came a day after he made a highly publicized trip to San Francisco for an interview and physical exam with the *****. Warner and his wife Brenda were flown from Phoenix by a private jet and taken to ***** headquarters by limousine.
Warner, who became a free agent last week, has made it clear that his preference was to return to Arizona. The two sides had an extended negotiating session deep into Tuesday night and on to Wednesday, according to the team's official Web site, to reach the agreement.

Re: Warner resigns two years with cards
Obviously no surprise here. Warner always wanted to stay in Phoenix and the trip to Frisco was no doubt just an attention getter. Even notorious cheapskates like the Bidwill's knew it was in their best interest to work something out. I'm happy for Kurt, but would have been happier if he'd have found a home OUTSIDE the division.

Re: Warner resigns two years with cards
I'm happy. Even though I am no Cards fan, the Arizona fans finally have something to cheer for.
Diamondbacks are not that good.
The Coyotes were doing good...THEN BLEW IT! I'm still mad about that. haha
The Suns are breathing again.
The Cards are a good team. They represented the NFC West quite well. However, I hope we crush them next year!

Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

So glad he didn't go to the 9ers. If I ever saw him throwing a pass to Bruce with them both wearing niners uniforms, I think my head would explode!
