What if the Rams didn't exist?
Okay we've had a chance to weigh in our most hated NFL teams. But who would you root for if the Rams didn't exist?
For me it would be the SD Chargers. Ever since the days of Lance Alworth, John Hadl, Ernie Ladd, Paul Lowe, Keith Lincoln, Ron Mix, and Sid Gillman, I've had a soft spot in my heart for them.

Re: What if the Rams didn't exist?
If the Rams didn't exist, I would slingshot around the sun and go back in time in a Klingon Bird of Prey and create them. I would also bring back two humpback whales and leave them in 1986 on my way back to the present.

Chris58, bite your tongue or should I say break your fingers for typing such a nightmare.
That's a tough one & never really gave much thought about it tell now. Going back to the era when I feel in love with the smash mouth style of th Fearsome Foursome, I would have to say it would have been the Bears & Butkus with his very physical style of play.

Re: What if the Rams didn't exist?
What's scary is if there were no LA Rams when I started following football, I probably would have become a fan of another nearby tem like the whiners or faiders....what a nightmare!

Re: What if the Rams didn't exist?
When I was in high school in the mid-60's, teams didn't do things like conditioning and weight training. The first team to do so as a team in the NFL was the 'Bolts. They even put a book together with pictures of players using their equipment demonstrating how to lift weights properly. They must have given these books away to high schools because our coaches gave each of us players one for the summer and expected us to lift weights to get stronger. At school we had only one Universal Gym the summer of my senior year that the whole team used per a strict schedule. Quite a difference when compared to today's high school training standards.
Anyway, that may have been another reason I kind of liked the 'Bolts. Besides they were in the AFL and didn't really contend for the affections I had for the Rams.

Didn't we do this exact same thing just after the New Year?

Re: What if the Rams didn't exist?
Geographical loyalty - Kansas City Chiefs
Childhood loyalty - Pittsburgh Steelers"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: What if the Rams didn't exist?
I would go with the chargers. Play on the west coast, plue in blue and yellow and have never been a big rival of the rams in my time. Couldn't pick an NFC team. Or the pats.
The Breakfast Club. You want cheese with that?

Re: What if the Rams didn't exist?
Tomlinson, Champ Bailey, Peyton Manning are my fav non-ram players. So i'd probably root for their teams. The teams here in the bay area are boring, except for the Sharks and Warriors.

Re: What if the Rams didn't exist?
For me it would have been Vince Lombardi and the Green Bay Packers. The Chicago Bears would have been a close second because of Butkus and Gale Sayers.
