Where's the D?
What struck me more than anything this weekend is how every team in the four divisional round games scored at least 28 points.
That eye-catching statistic is probably just a fluke, but it does show that even teams that made their living on defense during the regular season (i.e. San Francisco, Seattle, Baltimore) need to be able to compete in a shootout from time to time.
For the Rams, that's where the "work in progress" is most pronounced. We certainly need to add to our quick strike capability, in case we ever find ourselves in a game like the four this weekend.
That said, I don't think that the basics of the NFL have changed.
Running the ball, controlling the clock and playing strong defense are not dead concepts.
They just took the week off.
