Who starts at QB for Cardinals 2007
With the new Headcoach and coaching staff, who will be their opening day starter?
The kid from USC?
The kid from GSOT?

I really don't see how it couldn't be Leinart.

KW seems to always impress enough during the off-season and pre-season to make it a tough call for the Headcoach. I agree Leinart has the inside track but it wouldn't surprise me if KW steps up to make it a tough decision.

Re: Who starts at QB for Cardinals 2007
I'll be interested to see how Warner plays this situation out because barring an injury to Leinart, his days as the starter in Arizona are basically over IMO. Leinart looked comfortable and played well as a rookie and it would make no sense for the Cardinals to interupt the process they've started with him. He's now the present as well as the future. With no rumors about where Warner might go next, has he accepted the role as backup or is something in the works?

It's Leinart unless he's injured. I think Nick and Mike got it right. It really doesn't make sense to start Warner. It would only be delaying the inevitable - and Leinart's progress.

I didn't buy him as a quarterback. He's just so stiff, especially when he drops back to pass. Really stiff. He reminds me of Kurt Warner.

Re: Who starts at QB for Cardinals 2007
KW will always be a Rams legend but let's get real his best days are behind him.The Cards have their QB of the future in Leinart,it would be madness to stifle his development, because for a QB to improve and learn they need to be on the field not holding the clip-board..:l

Re: Who starts at QB for Cardinals 2007
I have an equal shot of starting the season out at QB for the Cardinals (barring injury) as Warner does. None. Honestly, Warner should retire. He'll always be the comet that the Rams hitched onto for a wonderful 3 years but that's all he had. Hey, it was good enough to win the Rams a Super Bowl and for that I'm eternally grateful. However, he just dosen't have it anymore.

Re: Who starts at QB for Cardinals 2007
KW was good for 3 years.
Why: Mike Martz. There is no other reason. Martz is still the best OC in the league. He made KW and once KW was gone he was gone!

Re: Who starts at QB for Cardinals 2007
I have to disagree, sure Martz gave Warner a system he could be successful in, but to say that Martz was the only reason KW succeeded is an insult.Let's see Warner in his prime had a quick release, was accurate and a great long ball,he also stood in to find an open Receiver even if it meant taking a beating. How quickly some people forget how great a QB Kurt Warner was for the Rams, well I for 1 will never forget..

Re: Who starts at QB for Cardinals 2007
81, decaf is a wonderful thing dude. No one is saying Warner wasn't a great QB. Warner was in a system with the Rams that was extremely comfortable for him. Why? 2 reasons.
1. Arena League. It's a fast paced league, and the QB has to make a decision quickly or he gets nailed.
2. Mike Martz. Martz took Arena Football speed and modified for the NFL.
So, both are responsible.
