The Best of the Best: A Football Simulation (come join!)

After seeing something like this on another site, I thought this might be fun to do, just off the fly, until the actual fantasy football rolls around.

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with whatifsports.com, but it's a simulation site in which you can take professional teams from all through history and sim them against each other. Want to know how last year's Patriots would do against the '72 Dolphins (lemme tell ya, it wasn't pretty for the Pats)? Want to see how good the 2000 Baltimore Ravens would be in a defensive match-up against the '75 Steelers?

What I'm suggesting is that we have a tournament. If you're interested, respond to the thread and pick a team for yourself. Any team that's played in the league since 1960. Then, we can create a bracket system and start the competition to see which team ranks above all others as the best of all time.

Does this sound at all appealing? It's not gonna work without participation, so the more people, the better!

They'll probably get crushed pretty early on, but they're one of my favorites.

If this is anything like the shows ESPN did, then the thing is probably rigged so some past whiner team wins. DJ will take the whiners, since he uses their defense in FF league.

Nick, I just checked out that site. That stuff is addictive. I went in just to check it out and wound up running a four team tournament between the 79, 99, 01, and 03 Rams. For those who are curious, 99 smoked 79 (34-3), 01 beat 03 (36-24), and in the finals 01 over 99 (40-36).
