Allstate Insurance Company Introduces 'Good Hands' Field Goal Net Program
Army General Scholarship Fund and Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund to Benefit

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Allstate Insurance Company and Army Athletic Association have linked up for an exciting and impacting advertising campaign for the 2005 football season.
Throughout the season, Allstate's familiar "Good Hands" logo will be featured on the goal post netting of more than 30 Division I-A college football stadiums, including West Point's Michie Stadium. At participating institutions, Allstate will donate $300 for each successful field goal and $100 for each made extra point to the school's general scholarship fund during the institution's home games. Additionally, Allstate will make a $1,000 donation to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund for every successful field goal by those participating schools for both home and road contests.
"In light of the recent Hurricane Katrina disaster that continues to devastate the Southeast, Allstate wanted to provide increased support in this time of need," said Joe Tripodi, Allstate's chief marketing officer. "However these monetary donations are just one part of our commitment to the communities in which members of the Allstate family live and work."
Allstate's "Good Hands" field goal net program is part of the company's comprehensive 2005 Bowl Championship Series (BCS) college football sponsorship. In addition to the innovative goalpost net signage, Allstate will also have a significant presence during this year's football season with a fan friendly mobile tailgate "Field Goal Fan tastic" tour, a national consumer promotion that will award one lucky fan a trip to the BCS Championship Game, a new college football-themed television advertising campaign and other ambient efforts to engage football fans at stadiums across the country.
Each week, the Allstate "Field Goal Fan tastic" tour will visit a marquee college football game. Prior to each game, college football fans will have the opportunity to test miniature Allstate branded goalpost nets by kicking field goals in a designated tailgate area. Allstate will randomly select one lucky fan to attempt a 20 yard field goal at halftime for a chance to win $6,000, half of which will be donated to the general scholarship fund of the winner's school of choice.
"We are thrilled to have an opportunity to partner with Allstate and participate in its `Good Hands' field goal net program," added Army Director of Athletics Kevin Anderson. "In some small way, we hope we can aid the countless victims of Hurricane Katrina with our performance on the football field. We thank Allstate for its commitment to such a noble cause."
Allstate's "Good Hands" nets will make their debut at Michie Stadium Saturday when the Black Knights open their home season against Big 12 Conference member Baylor. The game will be televised live nationally by ESPN Classic with kickoff slated for 3:06 p.m.
