Red Raider fans can be part of "Operation Thank You Military"

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech fans, alumni, and students have the opportunity to support the Red Raider football team, and at the same time, support the military personnel and their families stationed in San Diego.

Enthusiasm and excitement are at high levels for Red Raider fans after the team accepted a bid to play in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl, Dec. 30th in San Diego, Calif. The No. 22-ranked Red Raiders will face the No. 5-ranked California Bears of the Pac-10 Conference.

Ticket sales for the game started at a brisk pace Monday morning with more than 1,200 already being sold through the Texas Tech Ticket Office. Texas Tech is expected to sell its allotment of 11,000 tickets.

For the Red Raider fans who won't be traveling to San Diego for the game, "OPERATION: Thank You Military" has been established to help you support your team along with the military personnel and their families stationed in San Diego.

Over 3,000 military personnel in the area will be on-duty during the holiday season, add that to thousands of children and spouses who will spend the holiday season without their family member who is currently deployed overseas. Texas Tech fans can add some holiday cheer to these deserving families by donating their Holiday Bowl tickets. And at the same time, making some new West Coast Red Raider Fans!
