Kipers Top 25 as of Jan. 21

here is the link to Kipers top 25 as of 1/21/02. What interested me was that at the end of the list is where the receivers showed up. Which means, a very talented receiver could be had at our position in the draft. After that fantastic defensive offseason of last year, it may be important to draft the best athlete on the board at the time. Or, take skill positions and begin the reloading process. Tell you what, Jabar Gaffney of Florida is another Pickett project, but I have a gut feeling both those will be great players.

Just a hunch. However, here is the link.

Here are some other wide receivers in this years draft that should be closely looked at:

Antonio Bryant - Pittsburgh
Josh Reed - LSU

and there could be a longshot in Ryan Johnson of Memphis.

sidenote on Johnson: He's a St. Louis boy, from CBC and one of the top punt returners ever at the University of Memphis. Hmmm, another guy came from there, #80 I believe (and me, but who cares) Ryan Johnson will play in the NFL, he will be one of those 4th or 5th round picks that really pan out.

Crouch? Hey blankman, pass the doobie!

Crouch will get drafted in a mid round, but not by us...Where would we use him? No need for an option QB, not fast enough for WR, RB...no way.

OK, Blankman, if you say so....athlete or not we can not use him. He doesn't have the speed to fit in our system in the slot. He's made a couple good runs, but he won't last more than a game at Page Ranking or KR....:nerd:

There's a BIG difference between being an athlete and having NFL skills. Yes he'll get drafted and probably make a roster, but in a year or too his NFL career will look very similar to Scott Frost's. How many Nebraska quarterbacks have made a difference in the NFL at any position? Not too many that i can think of, but i could very easily be wrong.

Weinke won the Heisman and look how great he's doing, 15 losses in a row, he's not gonna last very long either.

Might I refer you to the services of one Vincent Ferragamo :nerd:

Sorry, DJ, just wishful thinking on my part. Maybe the Rams could pick up Keyuo Craver if he's still available.
