1310 The Ticket, DishNetwork To Air Game

Oct. 21, 2005

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU football team hits the road and travels north to face Tulsa in a 2 p.m. league match-up on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Skelley Stadium. SMU and TU met yearly from 1996-2004 as members on the WAC, but this is their first meeting as C-USA members.

Having won by one at UAB on Oct. 8 (28-27), SMU will be looking for consecutive road wins for the first time since the 1997 season, when the Mustangs won back-to-back one-pointers at Utah (10/11/97 - 20-19) and at Tulsa (11/15/97 - 42-41).

After an 8-5 season and a bowl appearance in 2003, TU slipped to 4-8 last season. Looking to rebound in 2005, Tulsa has scored impressive wins over Southern Miss and Memphis - two preseason C-USA East favorites - and is riding a two-game win streak.

Saturday's game marks the 13th meeting between the two schools with SMU holding a convincing 9-3 series edge. SMU has won eight of the last nine meetings since 1996 including a thrilling 41-35 overtime win last season in Dallas. SMU has not won in Tulsa, however, since 2001 (SMU 24, Tulsa 20).

The Mustang Radio Network and its flagship, 1310 The Ticket, will carry the game live and DishNetwork will air the game on channel 448.
