LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska tight end Matt Herian will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his broken left leg.
Herian, the Cornhuskers' leading receiver, was injured in the second quarter of Saturday's 24-3 victory over Missouri. He had surgery Saturday night to insert a rod in his leg.
The junior has 24 catches for 308 yards.
Senior Dusty Keiser and redshirt freshman J.B. Phillips are now the Cornhuskers' top two tight ends.
