Nebraska's Incognito indefinitely suspended

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska center Richie Incognito was suspended indefinitely Wednesday for repeated violations of team policy.

Coach Bill Callahan announced the suspension after practice.

"I'm really disappointed because he's a really good player," Callahan said. "But no one is bigger than the team."

Callahan would not discuss the details of Incognito's violations.

Incognito has had several run-ins with the law, and last month he was fined $500 after being convicted of misdemeanor assault.

The 6-foot-3, 300-pound junior was a first-team All-Big 12 selection last year. A left tackle his first two years with Nebraska, Incognito moved to center last spring.

Kurt Mann, sophomore, will start at center in Saturday's opener against Western Illinois.
