Final Stats

Slippery Rock, Pa. - Josh Kniess rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns Saturday night to lead the hosting Rock to a 55-7 win over Lock Haven in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action.

The win was The Rock's first in four games this fall and gave SRU a 1-0 conference record.

Lock Haven suffered its fourth straight loss and fell to 1-4 overall, 0-1 in PSAC-West action.

Ricardo Stuvaints also rushed for two TDs and finished with 75 yards in a backup role for The Rock.

The Rock wasted no time assuming control of the game as Kniess rambled 66 yards for a touchdown on SRU's first play from scrimmage. He later added a eight-yard scoring run.

SRU's defense held Lock Haven to 48 yards in total offense, all via the air. The Bald Eagles gained zero yards on 29 rushing attempts.

The Rock offense finished the game with 463 yards (310 rushing, 163 passing).

The hosts enjoyed 14-0, 34-0 and 48-0 leads at the end of the first three periods of play before Lock Haven -- which had been held scoreless for 15 consecutive quarters -- scored to trim the deficit to 48-7 with 9:23 left in the game.

The Rock entertains California U. of Pa. in a PSAC-West contest next Saturday, while Lock Haven hosts Mansfield in a PSAC "crossover" game.
