Rock standout Josh Kniess was named Tuesday by Don Hansen's Football Gazette as the NCAA Division II "Special Teams Player of the Week."
He also earned honorable mention national Player of the Week honors from D2Football.com after being named as a co-recipient of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division "Offensive Player of the Week" honor.
Kniess amassed 310 all-purpose yards in The Rock's 58-28 win last Saturday over Shippensburg.
He rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns, had 110 yards on five punt returns -- including an 80-yard TD sprint -- and also had one kickoff return for seven yards and one pass reception for five yards.
Kniess will be one of six Rock seniors who will play their final collegiate game Saturday at Clarion.
The Rock seeks to close out the 2005 season with a two-game win streak and a .500 record (5-5).
