I had heard rumor of another "professional" baseball team in the Greater Los Angeles basin. I thought somebody was was speaking "tongue-in-cheek" of Cal State Long Beach...

You mean the team that won the Series in 02'? The "Original" LA team?
Yes, the Angels were a PCL team that started play in 1892. Just some history for Dog fans who seem to forget who the true LA baseball team is.

The Los Angeles Angels were a minor league baseball based in Los Angeles, California that played from 1903 through 1957. They were members of the Pacific Coast League.

Actually the California-Anaheim-Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim would be my AL team of choice...

Your right, they were in the PNL I believe and started play in 1892 in several different leagues until the formation of the PCL. My point was however, that the Angels were in SoCal long before the Dodgers showed up. Any way, I used to pull for the Dodgers back in the late 70's early 80's, until my friends jumped on the bandwagon, (they used to be Angels fans). But now since I live in SD County, I pull for the Padres in the NL.
