The biggest hitter in st louis is....
My apologies for posting this on the rams board, but with all due respect to pisa, archuleta et al, Albert Pujols is a man child of epic magnitude. I just watched him bomb his major league leading 37th home run with a shot that reminded me of the movie Major League when the guy in the left field bleachers is yelling "too high, too high." A little straighter out and the ball might have cleared the arch. Thats his third hit of the night and five rbis. The most prolific hitter at his age in the history of major league baseball and a talent comporable to motzart.

I wonder if Marc Bulger could take his place.

Re: The biggest hitter in st louis is....
If bulger is as accurate with the long ball this year as pujols, we will be in great shape. I seriously think pujols is calling his shots, at least mentally. Of course, any idiot that throws him an 0-2 pitch over the middle of the plate like the guy did tonight in the eighth inning deserves what he gets. I think that the ball was hit so high that there should have been a movie on that flight.

There isn't a more dangerous 2,3,4 and 5 spots in the batting order than the Cardinals. Walker, Pujols, Rolen and Edmonds are a treacherous lot to face.
This year, the World Series is the Cardinals to lose. I have goosebumps right now just thinking about it.

Re: The biggest hitter in st louis is....
I wouldn't get too many goosebumps. The Cardinals are doing fabulous now, but as we've seen in years past, sometimes the best team can't always pull it off, like the Marlins. I do hope the Cardinals can do it, though, they're a good team.

The Dodgers' pitching staff might stop them a bit in the playoffs, we'll see.

I'll put my money on the Cards offense vs the Dodgers pitching.

I think the biggest threat is Cubs Woo, Cubs Woo. If they get a healthy prior and wood, they are going to be the team to beat. They are loaded on offense as well and i think they have a deeper pitching staff.

Oh yea, they're a threat....from 14 games back. We could if this and if that, but the truth is Prior has not been healthy and Wood is getting knocked around as of late. Sosa is swinging at air and the rest of the lineup is mediocre at best. The only member of the Cubs starting roster that could even make the Cards starting lineup is Moises Alou. The Cubs are just like the Seahawks...overhyped with nothing to show for it.
