College Baseball World Series
Living in Austin, I've really grown to like college baseball. Especially the World Series tournament. Texas is stacked though, they have way too much pitching. Up 2-0 on Arkansas already in the bottom of the 2nd. Texas batting.
Anyone else watching this? SEC has 4 teams in the final 8. Pretty impressive. Georgia won earlier 8-7 over Arizona.

Hey tx, check this out if you get a chance.
The other day you said St. Louis is a baseball town.
Well maybe so, but this is small town USA and it lives and breathes baseball, to the tune of 13 NAIA world series titles.

Re: College Baseball World Series
Texas and Cal State Fullerton look to be in the driver's seat so far. The new format also helps teams that win their first two games.
Texas just has way too much pitching.

Re: College Baseball World Series
The CBWS is falling into place for the Longhorns. They will go with the ace, J.P. Howell on Saturday. The bullpen will have two days of full rest. South Carolina defeated Cal State Fullerton last night to force a do or die game for both teams today.
Get ready to light the tower Orange Austin.....

Fullerton v Texas for the marbles
No contest. Texas will win Saturday and Sunday for the National Championship.
"Light the tower orange. The 2004 Texas Longhorns are the CWS National Champions." what Craig Way will say after the Horns win on KFNS 1300 the Zone.

Fullerton up 1-0
Wow, tough first inning for the Horns. Three unearned runs. First Baseman Curtis Thigpen dropped a throw, missed one from the SS but that was a bad throw. The Texas pitching staff suffered 4 unearned runs in a 6-4 loss.
Game 2 is today at 2 PM EST. Fullerton can win the National Championship today which would be a pretty big upset.

Re: College Baseball World Series
Congratulations to Cal State Fullerton for winning the College World Series. Texas just had too many errors to overcome the deficit. Fullerton got some outstanding pitching also.

CSF proved they were the better team. Now if they could just get rid of the paper champion in NCAA 1A football.

Re: College Baseball World Series
Hey TX, what's up with your coach showing his students and the rest of the U.S. how to be a poor sport. I didn't get to see either game and was surprised at both the results, but was their some consiracy I missed that made him snub the NCAA?

Re: College Baseball World Series
It was blown WAAAAAYYYYYY out of proportion. The NCAA rep told Auggie Garrido that it was optional for the team to come out and accept the second place trophy.
The media just created something out of nothing. Imagine that.
