Until American youth after the age of 12 play soccer on the same competitive level as football, basketball and baseball, soccer is America will always be an afterthough. Our best athletes have Rams, Dodgers, or Lakers sewn across the front of the jersey...not D.C. United, Revolution, or Crew.

As long as the US tempers it's expectations and continues to try and grow the game organically rather than through parachuting European and south american has-beens into the league, then I think there's hope there. But it has to be a long term view.
