hancocks father sues
this is a disgrace. Josh Hancock is killed in a car accident in which his blood alcohol is twice the legal limit, he is driving without a seatbelt while on his cell phone and weed is found in his suv. Notwithstanding all of that, his father is suing mike shannons restaurant, the tow truck driver, the guy whose car broke down etc.
This is such a tragedy in our society. No one wants to take personal responsibility for their actions.

The system is flawed. Suing makes no sense. Money should not be an issue in this case. Maybe the father is trying to find someone else to blame besides his son.

Re: hancocks father sues
We have the same sort of law here in Texas. My wife is a bartender and I am always getting on her for not cutting someone off. If they leave and get into an accident, their family can own the bar (it's not ours), our house and cars, etc...
I do understand the law, but as with any law, it gets abused.

Re: hancocks father sues
Yes, it's a conplete disgrace that any law can obviate someone of all responsibility for their own actions.
He was a drunk driver who compounded his stupidity by using a mobile phone whilst he was driving. How in the name of all we hold dear can it possibly be anyone else's fault but his own?

Re: hancocks father sues
Why not sue the person he was talking to on the phone, or hell, Jack Daniel himself? It is proposterous that he cannot see that it was no one's fault but his own son's.
American syndrome.
