Re: LAKERS #1 seed in the WEST
Problem the Lakers will have is Gasol vs Duncan. If Bynum was playing, I would say the Lakers have the edge. With Gasol vs Duncan, I'll give the series edge to the SPURS.
Two in a row.....one for the thumb. LET'S GO SPURS.

I agree, but I think that Lakers team has just too much depth to bet against. They've got a quality roster all round from Kobe and Odom to Gasol and Fisher. The Spurs are a lot older and I think they'll be physically and mentally tired going into this series after just coming off a long 7 game series against New Orleans. On the flipside you've got a much younger Laker team that is very well rested compared to SA.
Add to the mix that LA have home court, and I think you've got your favourites.
That said, the Spurs are a truly fantastic playoff team, and they've definately got a chance in this nonetheless. If Duncan and Ginobli have a big series, this might go all the way. I think SA will give the Lakers a good run, but will just fall short.
Either way, should make for some thrilling WCF action. Can't wait.

Wow, that was a big win for the Lakers in game 1. They looked buried but Kobe pulled it back. This series should be very exciting and looks already like it will have many twists...

Re: LAKERS #1 seed in the WEST
That was a big win for the Lakers but it would have been a devasting loss for them. Remember something about Game 1, Ginobli had a very bad night, the Spurs had to sleep on the plane in New Orleans due to mechanical failure, and they still only lost by 4.

All valid points tx but it will be interesting to see how the Spurs respond from losing a game they had in the bag. Remember the Spurs MUST beat the Lakers in Staples Center and lets be honest they won't get a better chance, being up 20 pts in the 3rd Quarter..

It's all up to Manu. He lost a fingernail on his shooting (left) hand and that bothered him in Game 1. If he gets hot, the Spurs win. If he stays cold, Kobe wins.

Lakers could take it all if you ask me!
Wouldn't be a surprise if they took it all!

Re: LAKERS #1 seed in the WEST
The Lakers look well set to make it to the finals now. Surely they can get that last win especially with two games in LA. Ginobili struggled again last night. What did anybody think of the non-call at the buzzer?

Although I'm very happy that the Lakers are up 3-1. I'm not counting the Spurs out until the fat lady sings. Something like LA LA LA

Re: LAKERS #1 seed in the WEST
Well, it was at the least a non-shooting foul (two shots) with the chance to tie. But realistically, the play should have never happened as it should have been LA's ball with a new 24 second shot clock off Fisher's miss that glanced off the rim and then went out of bounds off a Spur player.
Not happy with the officiating all night. So many missed or wrong calls, and then it appeared they made up other calls to make up for the ones they blew.
I am happy we are up 3 - 1, but not with the way we got this last one. Wish the officials would call the game fairly and consistently.

Re: LAKERS #1 seed in the WEST
Ginobli for the most part has been shut down all series. Had a good game in Game 3 but other than that hasn't played well and if you read what I said at the start it all comes down to him. Duncan is going to get his because Gasol couldn't guard me. Kobe shut down Manu in Game 4 and that's what won the game. That and the Lakers domination of the boards.

Re: LAKERS #1 seed in the WEST
The long awaited return of the Lakers/Celtics blood fued rivalry (10 meetings in the finals) is getting closer. I've been basically indifferent the last several years with the NBA, but this would pull me right back in. I'm really looking forward to seeing it happen.

Re: LAKERS #1 seed in the WEST
If it is in fact a Lakers vs Celtics finals, the Lakers better win. I don't know if I could survive another loss to a New England team (SUPERBOWL XXXVI) for the title.
