Re: mark mulder question for cards fans

I've heard 2007 is possible, but 2008 is more probable.

Re: mark mulder question for cards fans

Jun 23 Daniel Berk, of StLouis.Cardinals.MLB.com, reports St. Louis Cardinals SP Mark Mulder (shoulder) threw off the mound Friday, June 22, and will likely do so again Monday, June 25.

He was originally slated for late July return, so you never know. Sounds like good progress.

Re: mark mulder question for cards fans

Another Mark Mulder update I found Generalcounsel:

Pitching coach Dave Duncan acknowledged Mulder had experienced a "minor setback" but said he was not alarmed.

The Cardinals and Mulder have meanwhile refrained from projecting his return after initially hoping last winter that he could return in late July or early August.

"There is no date," Mulder said.

While in New York, Mulder was examined by Dr. Richard Altchek, who performed the surgery.

Questioned about the ambitious nature of a starting pitcher returning the season after having shoulder surgery in September, Mulder said, "I don’t think that it’s that hard to do. It’s a big thing I had done. But it will be all right. There’s a time factor. You’ve got to go on how you feel."

Mulder re-signed as a free agent with the club last December and said it is very important for him to pitch in the major leagues this season, even if his exposure is limited to a few starts.
