    Olympics (beware of spoilers)

Anyone else absolutely love the Summer Games? Can't beat Women's Beach Volleyball in my opinion.

    Whats your fav?

    re: Olympics (beware of spoilers)

I always look forward to the Olympics.

Swimming is a great event, especially this year with the Phelps-Lockte rivalry. Gymnastics, cycling, track and field, boxing, volleyball, wrestling, and even stuff like rowing, archery, canoe and shooting are all fun to watch.

    I'm ready. Bring it on.

It's funny, I never look forward to the Olympics, but once they start I am glued to them, and then once they are over, it's not like I miss them. I think it goes back to when I was a kid and when they were on, that's the only thing you could watch cause it was pretty much the only thing on.

I feel the same way about the individual events. I'm riveted to them when it's about going for Olympic gold, but after the games are over, I'm not interested in the least.

Hardly ever watch anymore. I never watch the team sports now that they use pros. I think they need to stick to track and field events. Some of the "sports" are ridiculous. Like calling poker a sport and putting it on ESPN.

    ....oh wait.

I thought it was awful classy of (I think it was) Costas and Brokaw to open by questioning security, bringing up terrorist attacks and mocking dude's haircut instead of saying something, you know, positive. Good job guys!

Basketball and soccer are what I usually look forward to, although Michael Phelps is a very interesting athlete to look after.

The canoe slalom is a favorite of mine. But I'm enjoying most of it, great viewing.

Personally, I thought it was interesting, but it seemed like Obama made a deal with the network and it sounded too much like an endorsement for socialized health care. Totally turned me off. They went on and on about how great the health care is there and blah, blah blah. Funny timing if u ask me. Someone was greasing someones palm. Elections coming up anyone?

It wasn't on the magnitude of the last Olympics in China, but it was okay.

I found the emphesis on their health care simply bizarre. So much facinating British history and that's one of the things they focus on? Like you, I felt it was a complete turn off, and had me scratching my head.
