Top Twenty "Most Overated"
This is from ESPN Classic's "Who's #1?":
Top Twenty Most Overrated
1. Anna Kournikova
2. The Heisman Trophy
3. Keyshawn Johnson
4. Eric Lindross
5. Notre Dame Football
6. Chris Webber
7. NBA Slam Dunk Contest
8. NBA Draft Lottery
9. Steve Spurrier
10. Bill Buckner’s Error
11. The Atlanta Braves
12. The Ryder Cup
13. Mike Holmgren
14. Joe Namath
15. The Indy 500
16. Golf
17. Oscar De La Hoya
18. Mike Keenan
19. Nomar Garciapara
20. Greg Norman
Very strange list if you ask me, and there's no way Anna Kournikova is overrated. #13 is interesting.

Re: Top Twenty "Most Overated"
Anna Kournikova is one of the most well known female tennis players in the world, yet on the court, she's really not that good at all. I can see why she tops the list.

Re: Top Twenty "Most Overated"
I really don't think she was ever considered or expected to be a dominant player. She never won any tournaments but did come close a few times and was ranked as high as 8th in the world. She won some doubles titles but obviously made her mark with looks and personality. To expect her athletic ability to match her public appeal is unfair, as is putting her at the top of this list, or even on this list for that matter.

I dunno. For as well known as she is, her talent as an athlete doesn't match it, and if that's the reasoning, I can understand her being on this list.

I Saw Kournikova Play Team Tennis Last Summer And Was Lucky Enough To Meet Her After The Matches And All I Can Say About Her Is Who The Hell Cares If She Play Tennis.

Re: Top Twenty "Most Overated"
I guess that could be the reasoning, but no way does she belong with the likes of Chris Webber, Greg Norman or Eric Lindross. Those guys were highly touted and expected to do well based on physical tools and proven ability. Anna Kournikova never showed she was anything but a gorgeous, above average professional tennis player. No way does she belong on the list IMO.

Re: Top Twenty "Most Overated"
I'm glad someone is calling out the Heisman. So many people look to the Heisman winner as the best player in college football. I couldn't disagree more. Only 3 times in 70 years, has the award gone to someone other than a QB, RB or WR. You can't tell me the best player in college football is going to play one of those three positions 96% of the time. And if the award is not intended to showcase the best player in college football, what does it show?2. The Heisman Trophy
If anything, lately it has shown what QB won't be playing on Sundays.
Jason White, Eric Crouch, Chris Weinke, Danny Wuerffel, Charlie Ward, Gino Torretts, Ty Detmer, Andre Ware.
At least Anna Kournikova is fun to look at."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod
