No way man, they're division rivals. I mean yeah I rooted for Warner when he was their but that's it....Oh you mean those Cardinals...I couldn't care less about them.

You know I follow the Cards listening to 101espn and have become somewhat of a fan of them. Altho I do have two teams in baseball! and no trash talking that I have two since they are and have been the worst 2 for a long, long time! Mariners and Pittsburgh. Used to watch both of them....

Anyways I don't think there is anyway in hell the Cardinals let Pujols leave. He'll at the very least be have another contract before he's allowed to be let go. I like having him in the Lou... Brings some sports excitement into the town...

Since birth. Third generation redbird fan.

And there's no way Pujols walks away. That's like letting go of Musial or Gibson.

But those guys played in a different time ya know. I hope your right I love that guy and hope he stays forever.
I just hope money isnt the only thing that is holding this back that would be a shame to lose him over something like that. I mean seriously give the dude a blank check and tell him to play like he has for past ten for at least 8 more.

No way Albert walks, and I don't see money being an issue, there have been talks of the possibility of him taking a percentage of ownership in the team instead of money for the last couple of years of his contract. I think the biggest hurdle will be length of contract. There have been rumors of Albert wanting a 10 year contract, and I personally think that's a little excessive, but they will get it worked out. There's no way they pay Holliday the money they did to make pitchers pitch to Albert if they thought he wouldn't be a Cardinal past this year.

love the Cardinals, there are no more loyal baseball fans in the country,to watch a game there is special, you look around the stadium and everyone is in red, just a great experience, and I agree there is no way Pujols goes.

We are hitting a stride right now we lost by a freak homerun in the 9th today but other than that the 4 games before that we outscored them 44 to 14. So I think we will be fine as long as our pitching holds up. Losing Wainwright was a real kick in the nuts.

I'm not sure if the Nats homestand starting tomorrow is better when we're coming back on the boil, or in September when we need an easier run-in. Does anyone know what sort of bias occurs when we schedule the allocation of in/out of division opponents? Couldn't think of a worse run-in than Astros away immediately following the Cubs.

If we had a closer worth a darn, we'd be 12-4 righ now.

Im still holding out faith franklin will turn it around. He is a good player but he has blown four saves already so he needs to shape up or ship out.

Re: Who here is a Cardinals baseball fan?

Love the cardinals nearly as much as I love the Rams.
    Quick points:
    - Not worried at all about Albert leaving
    - Boggs needs to be the closer, starting tonight
    - I think Theriot and Berkman's offense will more than make up for their average defensive play
    - Does anyone know a good Cardinals forum, similar to the Clan, where posters aren't crying about how the sky is falling after one week? Tried going to the Cards Talk Forums at STL today, but man that was horrible, gives a bad image to Cardinal Nation.
