-DT Ian Scott [Chicago]
[3 years 5SB/12million]

-RB Marshall Faulk
-LB Dexter Coakley

Restructure/Extend
-QB Marc Bulger
[6 years 21SB/40million]
-RB Steven Jackson
[7 years 16SB/42million]

Draft:

1[13] LB Lawrence Timmons* [Flordia St.]

Timmons has size and speed that Rams need at SLB. Timmons also can play in the middle and on the weakside. He comes from a program that develops NFL playmakers.

2[45] DT Justin Harrell [Tennessee]

Harrell would have been a first round pick if he had not hurt his bicep during the year. Harrell like a long list of volunteer DTs has size and speed. He is affective against the run and in collapsing the pocket. Harrell was tough enough to play against Florida with an injured arm before getting surgery.

3[77] WR Craig Davis [LSU]

If we are being honest with ourselves then Curtis is going to leave for an opportunity to be starter. Davis has good size at 6’2” and decent speed to go with solid hands that helped JaMarcus Russell have a great year. Davis can step in at the number 3 or 4 spot and be groomed to take over for Bruce.

4. DE Baraka Atkins [Miami]

Atkins does not have the speed of a true end or the size of a true DT but he is a player. He has good pass rush moves and a great ability to stop the run from the DE spot. The Rams need help stopping the run and Atkins can immediately enter the rotation.

5. OC Dan Mozes [West Virginia]

Mozes is tough smart player that can play OG or C. Mozes can provide depth that the Rams were lacking last year.

5. OT Daniel Inman [Georgia]

The Rams are missing a true back up LT and with Pace aging they need to look at a quality back up for him. Inman is 6’7” 320lbs. and has played against some great speed rushers in his SEC career.

6. LB Thaddeus Washington [Colorado]

Washington is a stout physical MLB that will play special teams and come in on obvious running downs and short yardage situations.

7. WR/KR Ryne Robinson [Miami Ohio]

The Rams need youth at the WR position and a serious injection of speed at the kick return position. Robinson does not have ideal size but he can stretch the field.

Very nice mock. Although the question is if Harrell is going to be projected ad a UT or a NT.

Very informative post Country. Briggs would give us an unbelievable LB corps with Pisa and Spoon.

Re: 1/22/07 Rams Draft

So you are going to get rid of Butler and keep Fisher?? I don't think I can take that. Might as well dump Fisher now and clean out the CBs.

Re: 1/22/07 Rams Draft

For anyone in the know, what exactly are the salary cap repercussions for releasing Faulk? We are obviously fine without him, but I am just curious.
