Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
I agree. If we have to move up for the 19 year old, that's stupid. Move up to get Branch, that's smart.

Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
What about this trade idea
St. Louis sends 1[13], 2[52], OG Claude Terrell and 4[08] to Arizona for 1[5].

Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
Why are you so intent on trading our pick? Heck, I'd be happy to sit there if Anderson was going to fall into our laps. Pick a decent LB in the second round and we're pretty solid in 5 of the seven front line spots. Plus, we'd still be able to find a guard, DT, and kick returner in rounds 3-7.

Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
St. Louis selects Branch?
Makes sense in terms of value For Us, (considering Az's offensive line situation) but if that's the case, what would warrant a trade down on their behalf? There is no OL who fits the bill at pick 13 unless Levi Brown falls past Miami, Atlanta, SF and Buffalo. And that can't be guaranteed.
The second round is very boom or bust anyways. Who says that the guy they draft in Rd.2 will be a Karlos Dansby of the OL? Likewise, the guy the draft could be the equivalent of JJ Aarington.Last edited by Bar-bq; -03-10-2007 at 10:30 PM.

Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
I personally think that we should trade our 1st round pick for Randy Moss.... Trade Bennett for Devin Hester.... Draft Damien Hughes because he alone will do better than any corner that we have... straight up we should get more of the players from the bears cuz the demolished us last year!!!
Also we should trade our 13th overall pick and Scott Linehan for Lovie Smith....
First of all we should sign Marshall Faulk to a 10 year contract because he is pimp... he went to SDSU... Ballin
The best thing that I think that would help us for next year is .... ok this is going to be tough ... so breath ... close your eyes and listen.... Move the Rams back to LA ... imagine that.... one word UNDEFEATED!!!

Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
The Rams need a huge impact at DT not a 3rd round pick.

Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
why does everyone want branch all of the sudden, He is big yes, he was great in college yes, but he had woodley and another slew of players around him, all of them run stuffers I might ad. I seen every single U of M game they are my favorite college team and the only team in my state I like. I am thankful for branch and woodley for what they did at U of M and I hope they do we'll in the pro's. But I don't want to see either one of them in horns unless woodley is taken and moved to a LB. He's to small to be on the line in the pro's gaining weight for him would only make him sub par. Branch in my opinion will be alot like kennedy, he acts like him, he plays alot like he did in college, and the boy takes plays off. He will not be an imediate impact, unless there has been a mental change after the game against USC. Okoye is 19, he graduated early and the kid is a wiz! He came from poverty in Africa! the kid excels and seems to find a way to come put on top, why trade away to get someone else? the only reason I would trade up is to ensure we get this kid, he has HOF potential, what else could we want??

Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
I watched almost every Michigan game and was impressed with what I saw in Branch. Every big DT gets tagged with taking some plays off, Stroud, Henderson, Haynesworth and Wilfork all had that said abouth them when they came out of college. Some times the big men get tired and they save some energy.
The reason the Rams need a Branch type player is that they need the size at 6'6" 325lbs he has the size to play NT and the speed to play DT. I think Amobi Okoye is going to be real good in the NFL as a Tommie Harris type player, but Tommie Harris struggles when the ball is ran at him. I think Branch will be a John Henderson type player and big Jon can stuff the run.
Comparing Branch and Kennedy is unfair, from what I have heard and read about Branch is that he has a great passion for the game and works hard to get better. Kennedy had serious committment questions coming out of Penn State and then he was miss coached.
If the Rams can get Branch then they have to explore the option because he fits the mold of what they need.

Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
Huh? If anything it's other players people want all of a sudden. In late December/early January most posters were frothing at the mouth about whether or not we had a chance to get Branch. Now as we get closer to the draft we're starting to hear things about how Branch is rumored to be lazy or sluggish at times, as if 330-pound defensive linemen are supposed to be completely fresh all game long.
Also, I'd go easy on the "Hall of Fame potential" talk. We should probably wait and let these guys play a down professionally before we start reserving their spots in Canton.
Country Roads, Take Them To St. Louis!

Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
maybe I'm still stinging from taking the "kid" out of GA Tech when we did but Branch is a big boy, with a big body, who's main purpose is to plug a hole and let others make the tackle. To me, that position can have a 40 timed by a sun dial for all I care. His the best DT against the run in the draft, and everyone on this board is SO SURE that the Rams are going to improve the D through the draft.
Ok, prove it. Get the best DT out there in Branch.

Re: 2007 Mock Draft 3/10/2007
The Rams have the worst DTs in the NFL, and I challenge anyone here to name worse DTs, so they need to get the best DT available in FA or the Draft. It just so happens that Branch is the best DT available in the year 2007.
