Re: 2007 NFL Mock Draft

I know many will feel that Beason is a reach at 20 but he is a less well knwon version of D.J Williams. Same size and speed which is what the defense needs.

Blalock is a value pick and will only improve the OL whether he starts or fills a role as a backup. Remember that Terrell is probably on his way out after his stupid offseason.

Crowder is a solid end that will enter the rotation.

Davis adds deptha fter Curtis walks to re join Martz.

Re: 2007 NFL Mock Draft

Beason is smaller than expected starters Will Witherspoon and Pisa Tinoisamoa who are both 235 lbs who would play on the strong side?

Re: 2007 NFL Mock Draft

Beason is 240lbs. and from everything that I have seen and read on him he is an explosive pleyer that has played every LB spot.

He is bigger then Spoon, Tisa, and Patrick Willis.

Re: 2007 NFL Mock Draft

I really don't care for Beason in the first. I view him as a reach @ 20th overall, which I might be okay with if he filled a major need. But I also see him as a WILL linebacker in the pros which isn't a position we need to address.

IMO there's no way Justin Blalock falls to us in round two. Even if he does slip into the second round, he wouldn't make it by the Jets @ 38 as they need serious help at RG and RT.

Tim Crowder later in the second is okay, but IMO Justin Harrell would be a much better choice for us at that spot since you have us signing Charles Grant as a free agent.

Re: 2007 NFL Mock Draft

A rookie receiver should not be counted on to "fill in for depth" The wide receiver position is notoriously difficult for rookies to pick up, let alone in our offense. If you want to say wide receiver for the future, thats a decent argument, but i wont count on a mid round pick at the wr to step up and contribute in year one. I would just as soon spend the pick elsewhere and give dominique thompson a shot.

ramming speed to all

I think once Beason is done testing he will not be a reach at the 20th pick. I like him he is a Miami LB that is fast. He might not be overly tall but he is thick.

Nick based off this mock who would you take at 20.
