    2008 Rams Mock Draft

1[25] S Tom Zbikowski [Notre Dame]

The Rams need an impact player at the S position. Zbikowski brings a winning attitude and toughness to the position combining with top flight speed and coverage ability. After Kenny Phillips he is the best S in the draft.

2[57] LB Jasper Brinkley [South Cariolina]

A monster MLB at 6’2” 262lbs. that can play in the middle if the coaches want to move Witherpsoon outside or on the outside as an upgrade to Brandon Chillar. Brinkley might not be elite in coverage but he tackles everything that moves.

    3[89] DE Jameel McClain [Syracuse]

An undersized [6’1” 256lbs.] speed rusher in the mold of Dwight Freeney, who does not have the same speed but still brings youth behind Leonard Little.

    4. WR Dorien Bryant [Purdue]

Bryant is a smaller [6’ 190lbs] speed receiver that can be developed to fill a KR role as well as a down field threat after Bruce retires.

    5. DE Jeff Schweiger [USC]

Schweiger does not have the production that you look for, but at this point in the draft he has the physical tools that you can develop down the road.

    6. S Dennis Keyes [UCLA]

A free safety and cover guy that can compliment Zibikowski’s hitting.

    6. OT Geoff Schwartz [Oregon]

With Orlando Pace and Todd Stussie aging the depth at OT is not great. Schwartz is gigantic [6’7” 340lbs.] and has the ability to play RT.

    7 K Tom Schnieder [Cal]

Jeff Wilkins cannot kick forever and it is time to bring a developmental guy in for a year or two.

i don't think Keyes will be there in the 6th he is considered a top safety and i think Brinkley is a late first round to early second talent. Otherwise i like picks.

i can't disagree with any of these picks especially considering it's about 300 days until the draft
