In San Diego, Smith could eventually replace McNeil as the left tackle, or man the right side or a guard position for years to come.

Interesting how things are shaping up and we're only halfway done with the first round!

When I read this part, I could only think about AvengerRam's "Do you find this Sexy" thread...and Andre Smith in a cheerleader outfit.

Tough choice for Philly. I would have liked to go RB there, but I kind of figured Minnesota would be looking at Britton with the next pick, so I took him at 21. I have a hard time envisioning a run on halfbacks between now and the Eagles' next pick, so I think it was worth the risk.

With the Eagles, that pick could go O line or Pettigrew at TE. Beanie Wells or Knowshown Moreno should be available when the Eagles pick next anyway.

I seriously thought about Unger since he could play anywhere on the line. Then I thought about how good Birk was in the middle. To me, they need a center more than they need an OT...barely. I also think that being the alleged smartest player in the draft would tip the scales in Mack's favor.

The smartest player in the draft is an excellent point. The C directs the blocking scheme and it has to be a solid decision everytime. With everything in pro football getting more sophisticated, that little nugget goes a long way.

While driving home from work and listening to NFL talk on Sirius the hosts of the show Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan were doing their mock. Rotating the picks between the two of them.

Gotta admit, I'm surprised to see James Davis come off the board so early, especially with the Giants having their choice of receivers between Britt, Nicks, and Robiskie. The Titans are on the clock, and they'll have a decision to make, because the second-rated CB is also on the board. Do they take a WR, or do they go with the slipping Vontae Davis? Or do they go another direction?

May I ask why you believe this? The other top RB's as ranked by footballsfuture.com are Beanie Wells, Knowshon Moreno, and LeSean McCoy. Two of the three were already picked, and McCoy does not fit with the Giants needs quite as well as Davis. There is no way he would last until the third round, and since NY still has the option of picking up a quality WR in free agency or via trade, I don't consider Davis going at #29 to be even close to a stretch.
