2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
As you all know when the draft comes around a lot of people like to label people as the next so and so. So I've put together a poll to see who you would want if these guys really did turn out like who they are to compare to. To make it fun I'm not going to say the draftee I'm thinking about, just who they compare to.
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
I hope DE. C. Long could be the next "JACK YOUNGBLOOD".
I don't think they compare. If C.Long could have the heart of Jack the Greatest RAM DE of all time. The Rams would be in great shape at one DE spot.
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
For the record I was trying to keep them all on the same talent level-ish. I tried not to put an overwhelming talent on there like Peyton Manning. That being said there are some extremely good players on that list, guess we ll see how it turns out.
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
I voted for Shaun Rogers compares to(B.J. Raji) would help the Rams the most. He would help the defence tremendously.
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
Where's Andre Johnson? I'm sure a lot of people on this board would definitely take him.
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
I voted for Steve Smith. No idea who you think his draft doppelganger is but if the Rams can find a WR/Returner like Smith in the 3rd round where he was drafted, that's a freakin' deal.
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
I voted Shaun Rogers. The guy is a freak. Would certainly help plug the middle of the field and leave Long in better match-ups. Am guessing that means I'm a fan of B.J. Raji then eh!
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
Hmm, let's see here....
Fitzgerald = Crabtree
Andrews = An. Smith
Brooks = Curry
Rogers = Raji
Barron = Oher
Palmer = Stafford
Smith = Maclin
Bailey = Jenkins
Ferguson = Monroe
Gross = hmm.....Britton?
To answer the original question.......man, I don't know. So many holes to fill, and a lot of good choices there. Depending on what the roster looks like at draft time, I'd have to go with........Ferguson.

Hub cracked the code, the gross choice wasn't the best, i was comparing him more to Jason Smith. I wanted a decently athletic tackle, but i didn't want to throw someone like BIG O on there, because then the poll would have been unbalanced. I think everyone on here would take another Pace in a heartbeat, the thing is there will only ever be one Orlando Pace. Any other comparisons to Jason Smith???

I was just doing comparisons, and the only guy that even slightly resembles Andre is Crabtree, but IMHO he is a carbon copy of Fitz.
But go ahead and put me on the list of wanting Andre "The Giant" Johnson.
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
I was definitely torn between Fitz and Bailey. A great CB makes your DL & LB's better...but Fitz is just a freak that can get the ball at its highest point. My biggest problem with line-men is that there's so many great/good ones that you can insert one name with another and not lose much IMO. But between WR/CB...there is a lot more discussion when you change names as to what you are really giving up in talent and ability.

The one I've seen a lot of draftniks making is the Broncos' Ryan Clady. Very athletic, smallish, zone-schemed LT.
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
I voted Crabtree, err, Fitzy. Brooks (Curry?) was my second choice.
Go Rams!! :helmet:
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
*For Jason Smith I would compare to a Chris Samuels or a Duane Brown at the very least...
*I think Crabtree is more comparable to Braylon Edwards IMO if you going to compare him to one player..Crabs might have the leaping ability and all that but what lets Fitz makes the plays he does are his hands...not that Crabs has bad hands (probably better than Braylon's) he's not going to be that kind of player..."throw it up and I'll get it kinda guy"...
*Andre Smith to Andrews I like
*Curry to Brooks doesn't make any sense to me really...they thought Brooks was too small to play linebacker and they wanted him to play safety...Curry has prototypical size and could play any linebacker position where Brooks could really only flourish as a Tampa 2 WILL IMO...I would saaaaay Curry reminds me more of Julian Peterson...
* Matt Stafford reminds me more of a bad Brett Favre or Tony Romo...strong arm, bad decisions..good athleticism and pocket presence.
* Michael Oher to an Alex Barron? Give my guy a chance...if he puts it together, Walter Jones...if he doesn't...then maybe an Alex Barron.
I picked Rogers/Raji...I took a dump a month or so ago and decided he would be the best pick for the Rams in terms of value and need and overall potential impact...I got poached by some guys on here for saying it was too high...if it's the guy you want why not draft him if you can?
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Comparison Poll
lol come on
Fitzgerald is a fanboi pick. None of you wouldnt picked him had this poll been up 2/08.
