Re: 2010 NFL Draft Discussion Thread

Most picks have gone against the grain of the "experts" so far. Which I really like, 3 months of filling webpages doesn't make yoy a GM.

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Discussion Thread

I like the Saffold pick. A lot of the time when a team drafts a QB at #1 overall, you see them either take a receiver or an OT with their next pick.

I'm reminded of a quote from the beginning of "The Blind Side" by Sandra Bullock's character. She said that if you view a football team as a house, your franchise QB is your mortgage, and the first thing you get after your mortgage is your insurance policy, which is your offensive tackles, especially the blind side tackle. We already have J. Smith, but now we have 2 bookend tackles to keep Bradford standing upright.

According to Peter King, best feeler/offer the Rams had was a low 2+ a low 3. They preferred the value of picking Saffold.

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Discussion Thread

I like the idea of really going big on the O with this draft. I never thought the D was the worst in the NFL but so much time on the field was a problem from late 3rd quarter in too many games. If we can fix up the O as much as possible I can see a lot of improvement from this side in 10/11. TE needed from somewhere - I don't know if we can trade up up up for Gronkowski but if so, might he be worth one of our 5ths and our 3rd...?

Clausen & Mc Coy could both fall to the Niners at 17 at this rate..

I'd love if we could somehow land Golden Tate. Would be worth moving back into the 2nd for him IMO.

BTW I'm betting Clausen goes to Carolina at #48.

I was probably being a bit optimistic with my trade pick shout! Would have loved the big TE.
