With the 29th pick of the ClanRam Insiders Mock Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select...

    Stephen Hill

    WR - Georgia Tech

The Ravens would have liked to see Cordy Glenn fall to them and fill their need at left guard, but instead, they find a player who can contribute as a third receiver before eventually taking over outside duties for Anquan Boldin. Hill is raw but physically gifted and would be allowed to grow and mature on the Baltimore roster.

With the 30th pick of the ClanRam Insiders Mock Draft, the San Francisco Whiners select.....

    Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford

Obviously head coach Jim Harbaugh is very familiar with Fleener. Harbaugh also likes to run the double tightend offense. Can you say Gronkowski & Hernandez? Fleener brings great size and downfield speed. He also comes from a pro style offense and should transition smoothly to the NFL game.

With the 31st pick in the 2012 ClanRam Insiders Mock Draft, the New England Patriots select...

    Devon Still

Defensive Tackle/Defensive End - Penn State

The Patriots defense likes to use both 3-4 and 4-3 alignments, so any front 7 player they take needs to be able to play in both schemes. Still could line up as a DT next to Vince Wilfork in 4-3 alignments, or kick out to DE when they move to a 3-4.

To close out the first round, the New York Giants, with the 32nd pick in the draft, select:

    Lamar Miller, RB, Miami

The Giants rushing attack struggled last year, averaging only 3.5 ypc during the regular season. With the departure of Brandon Jacobs, and Ahmad Bradshaw recovering from a foot injury, they could use a young, talented back like Miller. He has good size (212 lbs) and speed (4.40) and should contribute right away for the Super Bowl Champs.

With the 33rd pick in the NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select...............

    Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama

The Rams have trouble deciding between Kirkpatrick and Worthy here. CB isn't quite as large a need as DT, given the recent signing of Finnegan. However, Kirkpatrick is a top 20 talent, and will give the Rams a formidable secondary. He is big and plays physical, and will fit right in along Finnegan to make WRs hate having to play the Rams. The Rams may also look at WR, but with a second 2nd round pick, and Blackmon in the first round, they can look at other positions.

With the 34th pick in the ClanRam Insiders Mock Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select.....

    Rueben Randle, WR, LSU

Coby Fleener would have been the ideal pick here, but he's already off the board. An aging Reggie Wayne, mediocre Austin COllie, and injury prone Donnie Avery are reason enough to draft a WR this high. Rueben Randle was an effective deep threat with decent production on a team that was very successful, but didn't feature great quarterback play. Randle had 37 receptions of over 15 yards with 21 of those for over 25 yards in 3 years at LSU. With good size (6'3", 210lbs)and athleticism he could develop into an excellent WR, though a lack of true blazing speed means he'll need to become well rounded as a WR to be effective, which will take time coming out of a run heavy offense that used him mostly deep. Has lots of room to learn and grow, won't turn 21 until after the draft.

With the 35th pick, the Minnesota Vikings select....

    Peter Konz - C - Wisconsin

The Vikings have two drastic needs.....DBs and OGs. They would have loved to get Dre Kirkpatrick who fell to the Rams two picks earlier, because there really isn't any available CB or S worth a high 2nd round pick. So instead they turn to their interior line. The choice came down to 3 individuals, Kelechi Osemele, Kevin Zeitler, or Peter Konz. Zeitler, the only pure OG of the 3, is a tempting pick here, but I think Konz is the best overall of those 3. The irony is that the Vikes have a starting Center already in John Sullivan. But if I'm the Vikings, I take Konz and open the competition. My guess is Konz (truly a 1st round talent) wins the Center spot, and Sullivan moves over to Guard. They are the two best interior OL on the roster and will make up 2/3rd of the starting interior line on opening day, regardless of which one is at Center and Guard.

With the 36th pick in the ClanRam Insiders Mock Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select...

    Doug Martin

    RB - Boise State

Tampa addressed a pressing need at cornerback in the first round with Morris Claiborne and opt to focus on the other side of the ball in the second round. With LeGarrett Blount's drop off in 2011, the Bucs look at Doug Martin who at this point is one of the best players on the board. Martin's powerful compact frame should be featured in the Buccaneers' backfield sooner rather than later.

With the 37th pick in the ClanRam Insiders Mock Draft, the Cleveland Browns select.....

    Bobby Massie, OT, Ole Miss

The Browns looked long and hard at Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State but being 28 years old was a concern for a guy that would potentially back-up Colt McCoy. They are saying that McCoy is there QB of the future and felt the need to solidify the OL to protect McCoy. Thus the selection of Massie.
Massie is a strong OT who packs a vicious initial punch. He uses his hands very well and has great footwork. He has a good amount of experience and talent with tons of potential. The Browns will want Massie to play RT.

With the 38th pick in the 2012 ClanRam Insiders Mock Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select...

    Kelechi Osemele

    Offensive Guard/Offensive Tackle- Iowa State

Jacksonville are planning on moving Eben Britton from Left Guard to Right Tackle. Osemele gives them a player that can come in and fill the vacant guard spot, or if Britton doesn't work at tackle, Osemele can kick out and play there.

Re: *2012 ClanRam Insiders 2-Round Mock Draft*

With the 39th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select:

    Zach Brown, LB, North Carolina

It was always my plan to stick to my Rams draft board and, in doing so, BPA and need have happily intersected. Brown is my #18 prospect for the Rams (my next three remaining players are Jerel Worthy (#25), Lavonte David (#27) and Kevin Zeitler (#28), in case you were wondering), and he fits an immediate need.

There is no questioning Brown's athleticism and upside. He is 6'2, 244 and ran a 4.50 at the Combine (4.47 at his Pro Day). While some question his "instincts" and suggest he's not "overly physical," I think his production speaks for itself (105 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 4 passes defended). At this point, his athleticism allows him to "outrun his mistakes." In Jeff Fisher's defense, and with James Laurinaitis directing traffic next to him, he should thrive.

With this pick, you have to like the direction the Rams' defense is going in. With the addition of Cortland Finnegan, Dre Kirkpatrick and Zach Brown, coupled with Robert Quinn's promotion to a starting role, the Rams have far more speed and many more playmakers on the defensive side of the ball.

With the 40th pick in the draft, the Carolina Panthers select...
    Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina

Carolina beefed up its defensive line in the first round, now it's time to beef up their WR corp. Newton has Smith and Olsen, as well as a corp of great running backs, but adding a wideout like Jeffery across from Smith will give defenses nightmares for years to come. Jeffery will give them a big target for the redzone and make Smith's life easier. It will be very difficult to stop this offense, as defenses won't know who to focus on.

Re: *2012 ClanRam Insiders 2-Round Mock Draft*

    On behalf of TampaRam.....

With the 41st pick in the 2012 ClanRam Insiders Mock Draft, the Buffalo Bills select....

    Muhamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers

Even with Stevie Johnson signing an extension, the Bills don't have much else at WR. They also resigned Derek Hagan but he's a #3 wr at best. Chan Gailey likes the passing game and adding more weapons to boost the offense is greatly needed. Sanu is a physical specimen at 6 foot 2 and 218 pounds. He looks the part of a NFL wide receiver on the field. He is an intelligent player, especially good at finding holes in zone defenses. The biggest issue with Sanu is that he isn't the most special player. He does not have elite speed, size, separation skills or aerial ability. Questions about his athleticism aside, a versatile, smart player such as Sanu should be able to find a niche at the next level.

With the 42nd pick, the Miami Dolphins select...

    Andre Branch, DE/OLB, Clemson

The Dolphins need a pass rusher opposite Cameron Wake. At this point there are 3 excellent value picks....Branch, Ronnell Lewis and Vinny Curry. Ultimately, I went with Branch as I think he is the best all-around of the 3 and the most polished. Some might argue that Curry has more upside, but I think he brings more risk as well. Branch showed excellent ability to get in the backfield and is stout against the run.

With the 43rd pick of the ClanRam Insiders Mock Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select...

    Kevin Zeitler

    OG - Wisconsin

Robert Gallery came to Seattle to reunite with former coach Tom Cable, but the results were poor. Now, Frank Omiyale is doing the same thing. Will the results be different? Omiyale strikes me as a marginal starter at best, which is a good way to describe Seattle's other personnel at the position. Zeitler is one of the best players remaining on the board, and fills a big need for the Seahawks.
