With the 30th overall pick, the Atlanta Falcons select:
2013 ClanRam Insiders 2 Round Mock Draft (Selection Thread)-tyler-eifert.jpg

    Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame

The Falcons were lucky enough to have Tony Gonzalez back for one more season. Eifert would do well learning from the future Hall Of Famer for 1 year. Eifert is a natural receiver. The 6' 5" 250 pounder runs good routes, has strong hands, can take big hits and is quick. He really improved his blocking as a senior. The Falcons have major needs at the CB and DE positions but couldn't pass on Eifert. They really didn't think he would be available this late in the 1st round.

With the 31st pick in the draft, the San Francisco ***** select:

2013 ClanRam Insiders 2 Round Mock Draft (Selection Thread)-cyp.jpg

    Jonathan Cyprien, S, Florida International

The Niners lost Dashon Goldson this off-season, so here is their replacement. Cyprien is a hard hitting safety and actually reminds me a lot of Goldson. He'll fit in well with their aggressive defense. This is another piece to try and get a SB for the Niners. Pair Cyprien with Goldson and you have some of the hardest hitting safeties in the league. The Niners could also use a CB, but that doesn't pose great value at this point with the top guys off the board.

With the 32nd pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens select:

    MANTI T'EO, LB, NOTRE DAME

I just feel like this is a pick that's made to happen. The Ravens have been decimated by free agency after signing Flacco, having lost 3 starting linebackers, a starting corner, and both starting safeties. They need a new heart and soul of the defense, and who better than Manti T'eo? He led a fierce Notre Dame defense that unfortunately came up against a steam roller in Alabama, and since then he's had to battle the fake girlfriend story which overshadowed the abilities that turned him into a Heisman finalist.

The only real worry about T'eo is that his range may not be elite(as evidenced by his 4.82 40 yard dash), but the rest of his game is solid. The Ravens aren't really in a position to complain, as they will take the best back seven defensive talent available at this pick, regardless of whom it is. In this mock, it's T'eo.

With the 33rd pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select:

    Johnthan Banks, CB Mississippi State

After a number of departures this offseason, the Jaguars are left with just two cornerbacks on the roster. New Head Coach Gus Bradley will love grabbing a corner like Johnthan Banks, with the size and range that he covets for his defensive scheme. Banks posted career numbers across the board as a senior and was a prospect on the rise at the end of the college season.

Banks had a less than stellar combine which causes him to fall out of the first round however, but he has the opportunity to start from day one for the Jags. Ultimately the front office decides to give Blaine Gabbert one more year to prove himself before throwing in the towel and using a high draft pick on a new QB.

With the 34th pick, the Whiners take.....

Herbert Pickleseimer, backup Punter, Delaware Tech and Hair College

    (I wish)

With the 34th pick, the Whiners take.....

    Jesse Williams, NT, Alabama

The whiners don't have much in the middle of their 3-4 line. Great Ends. Great OLBs. But the exit of Sopoaga leaves a hole at NT. Hankins would have been the best option, but he is off the board. Next to him there will be a debate between Williams and John Jenkins. I'll go with Williams just for his (IMO) better motor.

With the 35th pick, the Philadelphia Eagles select:

    Terron Armstead, OT, Arkansas-Pine Bluff
The Eagles have a big need at OT, and Chip Kelly is hardly orthodox, so here's an unorthodox pick for his team. Armstead is raw and came from a small school, but his size and athleticism is unparalleled in this draft. He could develop into a perfect fit for the Kelly offense. I considered pulling the trigger on a QB with E.J. Manuel, but I think they're going to stick with what they have for now.

With the 36th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select:

    DJ Fluker, RT, Alabama

After losing Jeff Backus to retirement, and Gosder Cherilus to free agency, Detroit enters the draft with two glaring holes at LT and RT. After taking Eric Fisher in round one, Detroit pounces on the best pure RT in the draft, turning a weakness into a strength in a hurry. Standing at 6'5, 339 with 36 3/4 inch arms, Fluker is a massive human being who borders on an immovable object. Reggie Bush will enjoy running behind this big man.

With the 37th overall pick, the Cincinnati Bengals select...

    Matt Elam - S - Florida

I had Eddie Lacy going here in my own two-round mock, but why not mix it up a little? Elam would be an instant upgrade over Taylor Mays at strong safety. He's a versatile safety in the sense that he can do a number of things well, but his physicality is what seems to stand out most. Even though he lacks ideal size, it would certainly be fun to watch him bring more hard hits to an already physical AFC North division. He should be a Day One starter for Cincinnati.

With the 38th overall pick, the Arizona Cardinals select:
2013 ClanRam Insiders 2 Round Mock Draft (Selection Thread)-watson.jpg

    Menelik Watson, OT, Florida State

The Cardinals are in a rebuilding mode. They need lots of help on the O-Line. If Watson had more experience he could potentially be the top offensive tackle in this draft class. He's a big strong player at 6' 5", 310 lbs and his 34 inch arms are plenty long enough to play OT. Watson's biggest weakness is a lack of experience. He's played only two years of football, so there will be a learning curve. He is however a natural athlete and is already solid in both the running and passing game.

With the 39th overall pick in the draft, the New York Jets select:

2013 ClanRam Insiders 2 Round Mock Draft (Selection Thread)-larry-warf.jpg

    Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky

Here the Jets nab one of the better players in the draft. Warford is massive and will maul you to death. He is a beast and fits right in with the Jets here, especially when you consider that Brandon Moore and Matt Slauson (both their LG and RG) are FA's. The Jets look like they are moving on from both. Adding Warford next to Mangold can open up some big holes for whatever back they please to have back there. A RB was in thought here, but I thought Warford offered better value for the Jets at this point.

With the 40th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Tenessee Titans select:

    SAM MONTGOMERY, DE, LSU

The Titans had one of the worse pass defenses last year, though that wasn't helped by the Colts and Texans in their division. Regardless, they need some help in that department and while the corner value isn't there, the Safety market is still deep, and there's a couple of pass rushers who could have been late first rounders.

I'm not sure whom will be the better player between Montgomery or Carradine, but I do know that a former all-pro lineman and line coach will think that he can coach up a guy who didn't put it all out on the field in college more than he can count on an injury clearing up.

With the 41st pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select:

    EJ Manuel, QB Florida State

General Manager Buddy Nix has not been shy about his desire to get a franchise quarterback this offseason, and he lands his man here in Manuel. New Head Coach Doug Marrone would have also loved to grab his former player Ryan Nassib with this pick, but he ultimately doesn't make the picks for the team. Besides, Manuel is a great talent to find here, as many were expecting him to come off the board much earlier. Some were even predicting a team to trade up into the end of the first round to grab him, so the Bills should be thrilled to sit tight and grab their man.

Manuel has been shooting up draft boards and is having one of the best off seasons of any prospect in the draft. Named MVP of the Senior Bowl and posting a 4.6 forty time at the combine, Manuel continued his ascent with a very accurate and impressive pro day. His strong arm will help the Bills offense on those particularly windy Sundays, and the combination of first round pick Cordale Patterson and current number 1 option Stevie Johnson will give the offense a legitimate downfield threat in which to open up the run game for the explosive CJ Spiller.

With the 42nd pick, the Miami Dolphins select...

    Justin Pugh, G/T, Syracuse

The O-line needs some help. Jeff Ireland has said such, and that was before Long left town. Pugh may not have the reach to play on the outside, which doesn't solve the Jake Long problem. However, playing him off the blindside, or at Guard might prove to be the long-term use for him.

With the 43rd pick in the 2013 draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select:

    Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford
Josh Freeman could use the safety blanket of a pass-catching TE, and and aging Dallas Clark was a mere stopgap. Ertz is a good value at this point in the draft. He is a well-rounded TE who should be able to provide Freeman with a reliable target in the middle of the field.

Re: 2013 ClanRam Insiders 2 Round Mock Draft (Selection Thread)

With the 44th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select:

    Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech
The Panthers address a big need at #2 WR with the addition of Patton. Patton is a receiver who has been rising up draft boards since his performance at the Senior Bowl practices. Patton compares favorably to Reggie Wayne. Steve Smith will be 34 before the season, so his time in the league as a #1 is coming to an end. Patton can be the #1 of the future for the Panthers, as he is not ready to be a #1 today, but can one day develop into one.

With Smith-Olsen-Lafell, and now Patton, Cam Newton has a bevy of solid weapons.
