I'll go a little bit of a dark horse. I vote Odell Beckham Jr. to the Jets!

The Dolphins are crushed that Martin is gone, and they are so desperate, they probably would trade up for him, even t hough his last name IS Martin, like Jonathan.

With arguably the last top OT gone, Moses now seemingly not a #1 start right away talent and their other top needs being G and RB now..................Miami takes a lesser need with BPA. and Florida son.....DT T. Jenigan.

They could surprise with WR K. Benjamin, or S Calvin Pryor, or even Moses in a big reach, but I don't see how they can let a talent like Hernigan get out from right under their noses.

Jernigan is very tempting considering the possible turnover of some defensive line personnel in Miami, but I think the Dolphins would be wise to give Ryan Tannehill as much help as possible. In the absence of an offensive lineman of good value, the Dolphins turn to the receiver position.

Despite signing Brian Hartline to a $30 million contract last year, the Dolphins could use an upgrade next to Mike Wallace. Pairing Wallace's speed with the size of Kelvin Benjamin would give Tannehill two great weapons on the outside.

So my vote goes to Benjamin.

Re: The 2014 ClanRam Voting Mock Draft (Post-Combine Ed.)

youngster Rashard Matthews showed some real promise for Miami, (over 100 yards against TB) and Brandon Gibson was decent, plus their TE, CLAY has big upside as a weapon.

Unless they move Wallace, I can't see Miami continuing to add receivers.

The Dolphins have almost NO inside pass rush, and 11 year veteran Starks, and 30 year old Paul Solia are UFA.

WIth those two possibly gone, the Dolphins starters are Jared Odrick and PS player AJ Francis.

They HAVE two , even three receivers now, as well as a great receiver TE.

They have pretty much NO DT, in starters or depth. That kind of negates that great outside pass rush they have.

Just sayin. I love Benjamin, but Jernigan is rated higher by everyone, AND fills a far bigger need.
If they did go WR, they may even prefer Cooks, though I don't.

The last time Miami took a WR #1 was 2007, with Ted Ginn Jr. , and the last before that a Benjamin type in Yatil Green in 1997.

Have they been burned so bad there that they still avoid WR in round one?

    Sure seems that way.

I hope they do take Benjamin, so he doesn't fall to Seattle, the Niners, Carolina, New Orleans New England, or Indy

With Randy Starks and Paul Soliai both FAs, I think DT is the place they go.

    I'm going with Louis Nix.

The Dolphins have lots of cap room, and love to spend money on top FA, so unless the feel burned by Wallace, I see them spending big on the O-line in FA, unless they just love Moses.

The Dolphins stay in-state for the pick.

    Jernigan for Miami.

Re: The 2014 ClanRam Voting Mock Draft (Post-Combine Ed.)

I went Jernigan over Nix, because I read that Miami will re-sign Soliai, their NT.

However, as look more and more with all this time, I'm rethinking this pick, because the Dolphins have their starters at DT. Miami has cap room, and should have no trouble bringing their NT back.

As I read other needs reports on Miami, and look at their depth chart, It looks like OLB . especially guys who can cover and tackle, are a big need for Miami.

The top guys are gone here though, just like OT, so do you deal down (More likely they HAVE traded up to get OT) , reach for the next best LB Ryan Shazier, who definitely does fit the need, or move on to the next need. It's too early for a RB, they have a pass catching TE in Clay.

Is it too early fo the first guard, probably X Sua-Filo?
Every year we have guards going lower than they end up going, and Richie ain't coming back.

Looking all this, I can see Ireland just going for the best bet , the best player on the board.

On my board, I have ONE top tier players remaining. That is K. Benjamin, who was right at the end of my first tier.

    My second tier guys left are: DE?OLB D. Ford and K. Ealy: I eliminate them , Miami has two sackmasters at DE;

DT Nix and Jernigan, and again, I explained why I think they go elsewhere.

    LB Ryan Shazier

    WR Cooks

    G Sua-Filo

    S- Pryor

The Dolphins are said to be looking far a FS as they don't like FA Chris Clemons.

CB - Verett, Robey (Grimes may leave, and tey are thin anyway)

So, Miami would have to decide between the late top tier WR, an area they feel Ok with, though this one is a Florida State guy that will sell tickets , or two guys pushing the top tier, Verett and Pryor.

I'd probably go with my board and take Benjamin, and you really can't go wrong there. Benjamin is not just a big possession guy like they have.

However, do i think Miami, who seldom takes WR in round one, will do that, when they can get one in round two?

That's a tough one, and t his oenis as tough as it could et in t his mock.

I've gotta make a pick to change my previous vote after this new info for me.

So I am gonna go with DEFENSE

With a guy that helps against the run and the pass, gives that defense some attitude.

I change my pick to S Calvin Pryor
