Re: The 2014 ClanRam Voting Mock Draft (Post-Combine Ed.)

The Eagles are a team that will be after Jairus Byrd or TJ Ward as free agents, bur failing there, they could be looking for a hard hitting safety in the draft. There is talk that D. Jackson might be let go or traded, which could led to K. benjamin or B. Cooks being the guy.

Cooks also brings return skills to replace Jackson there.

He would seem to be a perfect fit for the Philly offense too, more than Benjamin.

The Eagles also need a CB, but they could go after one in FA too.

Mike Mayock has them taking D. Ford as a rush OLB.

They also need a NT. Nix would have been a great fit.

So it would seem to come down to Ford, Cooks, Benjamin, Hageman, Calvin Pryor, or R. Roby/J. Verett

This is a tough one, but I think they get a safety and corner in FA , and will deal Jackson, and have a VERY offense minded head coach, so my pick is Brandon Cooks, WR.

I am going to agree with Mayock and go with Dee Ford. Connor Barwin struggled last year and Trent Cole is getting old quick. Philly ranked in the bottom half of the league with 37 sacks. Makes a lot of sense to me.

All good suggestions so far, but my vote is for Pryor.

    Pryor (2)
    Cooks (1)
    Ford (1)

The Chiefs will take about ten seconds to get a WR name in for their pick.

The WR need is HUGE for Andy Reid.

In the past, he's preferred speed and production to size and potentiial, and they have Bowe as the big WR, so I think he goes with Brandon Cooks over K. Benjamin here. Cooks adds return ability as a backup at least to a team with good ST.

    Chiefs take B. Cooks WR

I agree; Cooks is a better fit for what they're looking for opposite of Bowe. Two votes for him.

The Bengals are a good team already, one that did everythng well on both sides of the ball. Their ST are great as well. Their lowest ranking is stopping the run, though, so defense seems to be where they would go. They were just 10th in sacks..

The Best defensive players left would appear to Be DT Hageman, DE K. Ealy, D.Ford (3-4 OLB), CB Jason Verett and R. Roby, and LB R. Shazier.

By BPA on my board it is Ealy, Ford, Verett, Hageman, Shazier, Roby but Verett is a fast riser whose only real negative is size, and Ford fits best as a 3-4 OLB.

Ealy would replace Michael Johnson, who is out, according to rumors from Cincy, and the Bengals can find a CB in round two, as they have their big corner in Kirkpatrick. Pac Man still has talent, but they still need a young cover corner. They will get him in round two. They can't get a good pass rush DE like Ealy in round two tis year.

    Bengals select K. Ealy, DE

The Chargers are in a division that looks to throw the ball, And they have a bad pass defense, and don't get enough pressure on QB.

Since they runa 3-4, and arguably the best player left is a 3-4 OLB, Dee Ford.

It's between Him and CB Jason Verett/ R. Robey.

Once again the depth at CB makes this an easy decision, and more pass rush helps those CBs.

    Chargers take OLB D. Ford

Green Bay Packers: Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
Not to interrupt, but may I add.....Nix, Pickett, and Raji all in Green Bay. Is there enough beef cattle in the state of Wisconsin to feed that half-ton of humanity?

Pickett won't be back, he's an UFA, and they are not very high on Raji gettig a new deal either.

However, have you ever been to a Wisconsin steak house ? They bring you a half a cow.

I have not. But after that description, I now feel a strong need to fill that hole in my life.

Went to a place in Madison , where you pick your meat and cook yourself over a giant grill.

They had something like a 50 OZ steak that was FREE, if you ate it all in a certain time period.

I think ONE time someone won, and they said it was an U of W offensive lineman.
